Which Harry Potter Book Comes After Goblet Of Fire?

The fifth book in the Harry Potter series is 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'. The book follows Goblet of Fire and is darker than the previous installment in that it begins to explore thepolitical struggles within the world of wizards. As Voldemort's return becomes more obvious, the Ministry of Magic refuses to acknowledge the truth, and Harry's life becomes increasingly difficult. It is an emotionally heavy book and Harry is angry and sometimes frustrated, but this is largely due to the trauma he has experienced as the chosen one to defeat the Dark Lord. He also has to deal with Dolores Umbridge, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, who is controlling, oppressive and terrifying in a rather bureaucratic and spikey sort of way.

The story of Harry and his school continues in ‘Order of the Phoenix’, in which Harry has to fight against the Ministry of Magic that denies the return of Voldemort. While Harry is struggling with his feelings of anger and his traumas, he is also trying to learn how to defend himself against the Dark Arts in a proper way. He teaches his fellow students how to cast spells in order to protect themselves against the Dark Magic in ‘Dumbledore’s Army’. Also, the complicated relationship between Harry and Dumbledore is further developed in this story. The story ends in a thrilling and heartbreaking way at the Department of Mysteries of the Ministry of Magic in ‘Order of the Phoenix’. The story turns darker and it shows how Harry has to grow up from a child into a boy who is facing a war.

The book that comes after the Triwizard Tournament in the Goblet of Fire is Order of the Phoenix. It is one of my favorites because it is the point in which Harry’s world becomes even more complex. While Voldemort is trying to come back to power, the Ministry of Magic refuses to believe that he is. Harry fights against authority and tries to come to terms with many of his emotions. There are many very dislikeable characters in this book but there are also some very sweet moments, most notably the solidarity of Dumbledore’s Army.

While the book is a bit slower-paced in parts, there are so many key moments to the story, including the death of Sirius, the reveal of the prophecy to Harry, and Harry’s growing realization of the role he plays in the war against Voldemort. The themes of resistance against a tyrannical government and the spread of propaganda become even more apparent and are part of why this book is so beloved by fans, as it transitions from the lighter earlier books in the series to the more somber closing of the series.

'Order of the Phoenix' is another fantastic book in the Harry Potter series after 'Goblet of Fire'. The story mainly focuses on Harry’s anger and loneliness, and the way the Ministry is denying everything Harry is saying is very painful and makes you angry too. The way everyone is rejecting Harry and especially how detestable Umbridge is in this book is awful. Also, the DA’s secret meetings were wonderful, and I loved the way the DA was fighting against Umbridge and the rest of the Ministry in secret. The confrontation in the Department of Mysteries is very intense and it contains a lot of pain and sorrow, but in the end, it’s also very heroic. In this book you can really feel the stakes are high and it’s really life-or-death.
