These scenes are some of the most memorable for romantic moments in the novel because of the captive situation which leads to many instances of forced intimacy that are slowly developed into something real. These scenes include the king tending to the slave’s wounds despite his usual cold nature, a secret escape attempt that forces the slave into a raw confession of his dependence, and a public ceremony where the king surprises everyone by defending the slave against courtly politics. The tension between the two characters in ‘That Prince Is A Girl: The Vicious King’s Captive Slave Mate’ comes from the push-and-pull between the king’s control of the slave and his growing protectiveness of the slave, which ultimately changes their dynamic in terms of power.

Two words: the dance. At a royal ball, the King forces the Prince to dance a waltz. As he spins her, her cloak falls open to her shape, in a reveal of her curves to the shocked Court. He pulls her close, growling “Mine.” It’s very possessive and very public. A turn in their game of cat-and-mouse to something more. It’s a brilliant scene – love declared in the most aggressive of ways – not words.

The bathhouse scene from the story is just one of many scenes that have rented space in my head. The king comes into the room to find his captive, her ropes loosened, and for a moment he sees the feminine form of the boy-prince before him. Instead of scoffing at her, the king tosses a robe over her bare shoulders and says, “You’re still my captive. But you look prettier now.” The tension in the air is palpable but what is even more noticeable is how gentle the king is when he later braids the princess’s hair. These moments of tenderness among so much chaos and conflict reveal the growing affection between the two characters and it is fierce and tender all at once.

I didn’t know that there would be so much romance in this story. My favorite scene is the archery contest in which the prince (in disguise) deliberately shoots to miss in order for the girl to have a chance to shoot. Afterwards, the King demands she tell him the truth, but instead she kisses him. The scene is a gamble and very interesting because the Prince’s anger changes to a darker and possessive look. The two have great chemistry in their moments of rebellion against the King and in their shared secrets of loving each other.

Romance scenes in 'That Prince Is a Girl: The Vicious King's Captive Slave Mate' are extremely tense, tender, and fragile. One of the notable scenes is when the disguised prince tends to the wounded king under the candlelight. Her fingers are trembling as she touches his skin, and in that instant she is exposed of her true identity. King, notorious for his cruelty, hesitates for a moment before he gently cups her face and brushes a smudge of dirt from her cheek as if she were precious. After that their dynamic changes and becomes extremely fragile and raw.
In another scene set at a palace festival, the king pulls her into a secluded alcove and presses her against the stone wall. His eyes are filled with a burning hunger but instead of anger there is only desire. After a long moment, she drags him down to her for a kiss, yanking on his collar as their lips clash together in a mix of anger and desire. Later, when she has been poisoned by the treacherous woman, he struggles through a fierce storm, carrying her in his arms and whispering sweet promises in her hair. This is the King. Powerful and sometimes cruel, but also full of fear and love for this strange woman.

I ripped his claws from my shoulders and pinned his arms above his head. He thrashed under me, his eyes flashing with something deeper than anger.
That was when I sensed it.
The sweet scent of cinnamon—the smell of a wolf’s arousal.
We froze, our bodies pressed together, so close I could feel the tremors of his heart against mine.
That wasn’t all….I felt his hardness, bulging and aching with need.
“Don’t look at me.” He turned away, squeezing his eyes shut as his cheeks tinted pink with shame. “I give up, so just kill me already, I can’t take it anymore.”
I swallowed hard, faltering yet again.
But instead of recoiling, instead of mocking him, I crashed my lips against his.

His lap is my throne and my body is his salvation.
Orphaned and enslaved, I was sold to Prince Erwin's palace to serve as his sex slave.
They said the prince drinks blood daily and has a taste for killing people. That only blood, violence, and screams can arouse his sexual desire. His favourite colour was reddish blood, and my hair was red. Perhaps that's why he fell in love with me, made love with me almost every night, but sometimes his demonic side took over and he raped me me brutally. But deep in my heart, I know he loved me. He adorned me with the jewels, burned his own king-father alive, for me. He still chose me even though he was married to a beautiful noblewoman. And I loved him as well. He is the king of my body, my heart, and my soul.
The prophecy says that I will die by his hand, and before that happens, I must free him from the curse he was born with. He is the beast, and I am the beauty. Can the beauty heal the beast?

This story contains some adult concepts such as:
- Slavery, Harem, and reverse harem (since the setting is in the 16th. I opposed slavery)
- Graphic sexual and violent scenes (stay away if you are under 18)
- Bloody vengeance (may be distressing to some readers. If you are easily triggered, it may be best to avoid this book)
- Gods, Goddesses vs Demons (Based on Greek mythology, not suitable if you are too religious)
This story is a work of fiction, intended to satisfy readers' wildest smut and romantic fantasies. Please do not read this book if you dislike the above topics. You have been warned.
There is great happiness in this story's ending. There is much contrast to the other end of the story. The ending of the first chapter was dark, oppressive and despairing. The ending of the story is bright, free and full of mutual affection. That is the substance of the story's arc.
Throughout the novel the author leads his readers through the darkest of valleys and in the end leads them to a beautiful sunny meadow where they can experience the joy of his/her main characters. If the novel had started at a happier time then the ending would not have the same impact as it does. Because the readers have experienced the lowest point of their lives with the main characters then every moment of joy that they experience in the ending is pure triumph to the readers.
When searching for a free novel online I approach it all as a game and each click is a gamble to see if I get a decent website or a site that has been infected with a virus. I managed to strike gold on my third search for a free novel online, FreeNovel.me was the site that I stumbled upon and it had a good ‘next chapter’ button and I was also able to alter the font size which was a luxury as some sites don’t have these facilities. The novel was great, it had the perfect mix of scheming and romance and slowly developed throughout. The male lead was obsessed and this was portrayed in a very creepy yet fascinating way. The site was so easy to read around that I actually was able to get into the story rather than reading and then searching for the next chapter.
It's a loaded question. Yes, it exists. The novel “That Prince Is a Girl” is a typical Chinese transmigration web novel which makes its characters suffer greatly before giving them some relief. The captive slave mate character in this novel, whom the fans of the novel call the “war god” character, suffered greatly as a property. His relationship with the female prince was greatly unbalanced in power, with the male being the master and the female the slave. Their peaceful and happy ending was achieved after hundreds of chapters of intrigue, betrayal, wars and slow healing of their emotional wounds. It’s not a fluffy and peaceful ending but rather a solid peace achieved after a great upheaval of society.
For many readers, this is also what makes the novel satisfying. It does not shy away from the inherent trauma of the captive slave mate’s situation.
