For an elementary school lesson plan about conflict resolution using children's picture books, I need the main characters' names from Derek Munson's 'Enemy Pie'.

The main character in the story is a young boy who has an enemy in Jeremy Ross, the new neighbor next door. The boy’s dad helps him make the mysterious ‘Enemy Pie’. Later I came across ‘Craving The Enemy’ a novel in which two chefs are forced into a professional high-stakes competition through their professional rivalry. They have intense battles in the kitchen, slowly developing a different kind of tension.

In the story 'Enemy Pie', the two main characters are Jeremy Ross and the narrator (who is not named in the story). Jeremy is the new kid in town and the reason that the narrator calls Jeremy his enemy is typical of school yard behavior i.e. Jeremy is not invited to the narrator’s trampoline party for his brother’s birthday. The story is told from the viewpoint of the narrator, a young boy, and it is his perspective of events that makes us able to relate to the story because it is typical of childhood to want to be friends with people who are perceived to be enemies at times.

This pair of characters makes great sense as they evolve throughout the short story. The father of the narrator has been prescribing the “enemy pie” recipe to deal with enemies in the past, and that is exactly what he tells Jeremy is going to happen. But it is really a recipe for making a great friend instead. The story brings back many memories as the two boys play basketball, laugh and become very good friends after being sworn enemies only a short time before.

There are two main characters in the story 'Enemy Pie'. Jeremy Ross is the enemy to the young narrator, but as you read on you realize how quickly one can be labeled as an enemy. The way that the narrator’s dad tries to make an “enemy pie” to make peace with the boys is quite humorous and shows how desperate he is to have them to come over for a play. There are many moments between Jeremy and the young narrator, such as playing basketball together and even laughing at the same jokes. This story is short but very powerful because it shows how friendship can happen when you least expect it.

The central characters of Jeremy Ross and the narrator drive the story of ‘Enemy Pie’ as their relationships change dramatically throughout the book. Jeremy initially sets out to be the enemy of the narrator but becomes his friend instead. The narrator’s dad also plays an important role of encouraging his son to be kind but in a subtle manner.

What I really love about this book is that neither of the kids are portrayed as villains. In fact, it becomes clear that Jeremy isn’t mean at all – he’s just another kid navigating the same social waters as the narrator. He’s even a friend to the narrator in the treehouse, playing together and ultimately bonding over the infamous ‘enemy pie’. The story presents a really fun and relatable look at a key aspect of growing up: learning to look at someone else and understand their place in things.

In “Enemy Pie” written by New York Times bestselling author of children’s books, DST publisher New Jersey-based Capstone contributor wrote the book Enemy Pie, the main characters to focus on in this story are the unnamed narrator and Jeremy Ross. The children’s story is told by the young unnamed narrator, whom conveys a sense of pure and innocent frustration as well as pure and innocent curiosity as he tries to make sense of the other boy in the story.

The dad is great. His idea of the ‘enemy pie’ plan creates the scenario of these two boys having to spend time together. The pie is almost a MacGuffin as it is not really important to the story as it is the boys growing relationship. The story works well because it doesn’t tell us that excluded people must be our friends rather we watch as the two boys work out their friendship. A highlight of this short story is when the two boys are having such a good time that they forget that they are supposed to be enemies.

Who are the main characters in Stepmother Friends Vol. 1?

Taehoon and Yura are without a doubt the main characters of this webtoon but every now and then, there are ‘episodes’ of chapters that focus entirely on a supporting character. There was a chapter written from Minjae’s perspective, with him as the main character for most of the chapter. Through that we were able to learn more about the world Taehoon and Yura are in. Again, it’s not an ensemble cast but we get to see the supporting cast of the webtoon more as fully rounded characters rather than just props. The focus is on the step-sibling relationship of Taehoon and Yura but at times the main character field opens up to include viewpoints of the best friend of the two, which gives us more insight to the central dilemma at hand.

Are there any popular adaptations of The Pied Piper?

7 Answers2025-09-18
It's really great to see how everyone has concentrated on different points of view – horror, music, the piper's labor, metaphor. But it shows that this is a rich story comprising many different powerful ideas within a thin narrative: justice, artistry, debt and loss. So any adaptation could be good if they just concentrated on one of these aspects and explored it thoroughly. The piper could be a nasty, vengeful wizard, or a worker who is being exploited, or a racketeer selling dreams, or some other natural force. The town could be greedily avaricious, desperate, silly or cruel. And the children could be victims, fans or even currency. Unlimited possibilities for anyone who wants to adapt The Piper.

Who are the characters in Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party?

This book is so much fun to read! All of the characters in ‘Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party’ are very fun and bring so much to the story. There is Pete, the main character, who is so cool because he is a cat who is so easy going and always rolls with the punches. Then there is Grumpy Toad and Callie, Pete’s friends. And of course, there are Pete’s parents. The way that all of the characters interact with each other is so light hearted and perfect for children. They are just silly enough to keep it fun. The book is about friendship and having fun and it is a sweet and simple story that does not have too much drama. Just good feelings and pizza.

Other books that capture a similar sense of positive energy in the midst of life’s ups and downs are Lauren Wolk’s Echo Mountain, which is quieter and also extremely powerful, and The Truth About Twinkie Pie by Kat Yeh. That book is chock full of recipes and finds a positive way to depict sisterhood and includes a big-hearted story at its core. All of these books take a look at life’s lemons and find a way to make them into something sweet.

Who are the main characters in The Fourteenth Goldfish?

I kind of dig these stories of kids and adults meeting in the middle. So, the story really respects the thoughts and feelings of Ellie, and then, Melvin, who’s an adult in mind, has to learn from this kid about empathy and connection. The mom has to learn to see her father in a different light than just this failures of her father. It’s a roundabout of growth of all of these people. And I think what’s really great about this story is that all of these people change, but they stay true to themselves. None of them have a personality transplant and suddenly become a completely different person. Instead, they just grow and become more complex and have more understanding of other people.

Who are the main characters in Shibumi?

Kishikawa is the best of the bunch, a sophisticated, cultured and multilingual killer who treats his murders with the same love and care that he would bring to any other art form. His companions, Hana and Diamond, are equally well-realized - Hana’s background is horrific but she is not a victim; she is strong and silent. Diamond is a foul-mouthed, lacking-in-class villain, and thus a wonderful foil to the urbane killer. Even the least of the minor characters (like the friend of Hel’s childhood that he has to kill) is introduced with a sense of tension. But it is the relationships between Kishikawa and his two murderesses that are really the interest of this novel: his paternal love for Hel, Hana’s devotion to him, and the begrudging respect that he gets from his enemies. The novel is a character-driven thriller that explores as much philosophy as action.

Who are the main characters in 'Ensest'?

'Ensest' is a story about a very close family and every member of the family is playing a role which could be either good or bad for them. The father is a very dominant character in the family and every one is scared of his authority. But there is a crack in his strong façade. The mother is very strong character but she hides her strength behind her submission to her husband. The children are also very unique. The oldest one is trying to please his father, the middle one is rebelling, and the youngest one is absorbing everything. It is very interesting to see how these characters interact with each other and discover their secrets and their struggles. The story also includes relatives of the family members who add to the pressure or give a different perspective to the characters and the story.

Who are the main characters in The Calamity Club?

I love Mina. Mostly because her superpower isn’t flashy. She feels the lingering terror in a room, or the echo of sorrow that has been there for centuries. It’s really heavy, and the story doesn’t sugar coat the emotional toll that it takes on her. She has to practice up emotional shielding, and there are even chapters where she is recovering from a huge event. Her superpower would be really awful to live with in reality. I also very much enjoyed her platonic relationship with Leo in the book. In many situations he serves as a sort of anchor for her, helping her to keep her grounding when things become too much for her. Unlike the other females in the book, Mina is not romantically involved with any of the males in the story and I found her to be the soul of the group, the moral compass, and she often helped to remind the others that the ‘calamities’ they were fighting were people once, with their own pain and stories.

Who are the main characters in 'This Is How You Lose the Time War'?

9 Answers2025-05-29
The whole story follows the correspondence of two characters: Red and Blue, two time-traveling agents of opposite sides in a war between The Garden (Red) and The Agency (Blue). The Garden seems to prefer biological growth, while The Agency likes crystalline structures and pure information. All story is conveyed through letters that the two operatives write to each other, including one inside a seed, growth rings of a tree, and the pattern of a disease. Their characters are completely developed through these letters, and we get to see Red’s passionate, poetic nature contrast with Blue’s cold, analytical intellect, and slowly see them change and intertwine. It’s a really short, minimalistic story, great for showing off voice.

Who are the main characters in Extras All For The Game?

I love the disaster that is the Foxhole Court team. Neil is this totally new newbie with secrets to die for. Andrew could so save your life or so stab you in the back. And poor Kevin is the star falling so very fast. I adore the interactions between Neil and Andrew, pretty much begrudgingly allied against all odds, but also some wonderful side characters like Wymack and Abby. It is not just another exy story, these kids are so very broken and you get to see how they slowly learn to trust each other and to fight for each other, maybe even to heal a little along the way.
