The physical act of switching needs to be intuitive. On a phone, it should be a prominent button, not buried in a settings menu. On an Echo device, a voice command like "Alexa, switch to reading 'Project Hail Mary' on my tablet" should be possible. The barrier between 'listening mode' and 'reading mode' in the user's mind should be virtually non-existent in the app's design. The technology should facilitate the brain's desire to continue the story, not interrupt it.
It's gotta be fast. Snappy. Opening the app, searching my library, switching between formats, downloading a new chapter—all of it needs to feel instantaneous. If I have a 15-minute window to read, I don't want to spend 2 minutes waiting for the app to refresh my library or for the audiobook to buffer. Performance is a feature, especially for an app that's meant to facilitate quick, opportunistic reading and listening sessions throughout a busy day.

Bella Cupid

Born from rape and abused since childhood, Layla loses her ability to speak and gradually loses the zeal to continue living.
Giving up on life, she made her way to the edge of a cliff overlooking the vast ocean. Without a second thought, she closed her eyes and let her body go, welcoming the peace and calmness that came with death.
And when she opened her eyes again, there was a pair of golden eyes staring back at her.
...
Supreme Alpha Riven Qinn, Alpha King of Dark Creek Pack, strongest and most powerful lycan ever, has lived for centuries and with each passing full moon, he loses the hope of ever finding his one true mate.
But fate directs him and he finds Layla on the shores of the river surrounding his territory, almost buried under the wet sand. He touched her and one word resounded in his head.
MATE!
Safe in the arms of the Alpha, Layla realizes the world is not as cruel as she thought. A deep passion springs forth between the mated lovers and Layla finds herself longing for his touch and presence.
Suddenly strange phenomenon begins to occur. Layla's speech is restored and along with it comes strange powers coupled with the gut wrenching pain she endures every full moon.
Her identity is discovered.
She's the first Tribrid ever. Born from the three strongest bloodlines. This discovery brings forth damned creatures and giant titans from Tartarus, all with a desire to possess the blood of the Tribrid which can cause great havoc in the wrong hands.
Riven and Layla will have to fight against Tartarus and the endless conspiracies that threatens to tear them apart.
In the course of saving the world, can their love overcome all obstacles or will fate bring them to ruin?
“Why does everyone assume I need a tragic backstory to justify what I am?” Adrian said, strolling slowly toward me like he had all the time in the world.
His eyes locked on mine as he continued, “Oh no, honey. It isn't because mummy dearest died giving birth to me. Or because dear old dad was too busy to tuck me in at night"
He stopped when he was directly in front of me. So close that his tall frame was towering intimidatingly over me.
I lifted my chin stubbornly to look him in the eye, refusing to cower.
He smirked at that, his hand going to swipe a stray strand of hair from my face.
“Some of us,” he murmured, “are not broken.”
His eyes darkened.
“Some of us are just simply… evil.”

I was dragged to the execution block in chains, accused of being a monster the world had erased.
Then the Alpha's wolf claimed me as mate and forced him to halt the execution.
In a world where hybrids were hunted to extinction, I was the last mistake left alive. The last thing Lucien Dreadmoor wanted was his mate being the single weapon that could completely wipe out wolves from existence. The bond tied us together anyway, trapping me in his keep, his rules, his control.
He called it protection.
I called it a cage.
As war stirs at the borders and a vampire prince begins circling, whispers spread that my blood could start another war… or end it.
The Alpha wants to break the bond.
The Vampire wants to claim me.
And somewhere between fate and freedom, I must decide which monster I am willing to stand beside… and which one I am willing to become.

Love is something to never be ashamed of, it's okay to fall in love even if that person is someone of the same sex.
That's the way I feel towards the person who showed me how to love.

Leslie Campbell is a young omega who is married to a beta. He is a book enthusiast who became an editor for a successful publishing company and he is assigned to his favorite author, Azrael Mitsuki Bethan, a Japanese American writer who paints the world in white and black.
However, there is one serious problem... Azrael hates omegas especially male omegas.

The day I turned eighteen, I found my mate.
The problem?
He wasn’t alone.
The Moon Goddess tied me to both Xavier Blackwood and Xander Blackwood—twin Alpha heirs destined to inherit rival halves of the same pack.
One bond.
Two mates.
An impossible fate.
Xavier Blackwood, the future Alpha King, is devastatingly handsome, cold, and calculated. He carries the weight of the throne like it was carved into his bones. He publicly rejects me to protect his claim to power and bury the scandal before it destroys his empire.
Xander Blackwood, his reckless, dangerously charming twin, lives like the rules don’t exist. He refuses to let me go… and in secret, he claims me in a way no one is ever meant to survive.
Now the entire Silvercrest Academy knows I’m the girl who tore the most powerful bloodline in werewolf history apart.
But the twins aren’t my biggest problem.
Because someone is murdering students inside Silvercrest Academy.
And every victim is somehow connected to me.
As the killings escalate, an ancient truth begins to surface; the Moon Goddess never makes mistakes.
If I was truly bound to both brothers… then one of them was never meant to survive.
And soon, I’ll have to choose which twin the future belongs to.
But something far older than the bond is awakening beneath the academy.
An ancient curse is breaking.
And Silvercrest is spiraling into chaos no one can control.
At the center of it all stands me—Mabel Sinclair—haunted by a power I don’t yet understand… the legendary Lunar Wolf bloodline said to end wars or start them.
But when the curse finally shatters, only one truth remains in the ashes of fate:
Which Alpha owns my heart… and which one will I have to lose?
The search function is an underrated differentiator. Libby's search feels a bit clunky—it's hard to filter by 'available now' for audiobooks only. Kindle's search across its store and your library is seamless. When I have a specific title in mind, I appreciate an app that lets me find it (and see if it's included in my subscription) in two clicks.
My partner and I share a family library on Apple Books. We can buy an ebook/audiobook bundle once, and both of us can access it on our own devices. The Family Sharing feature works flawlessly for books, which is a huge cost saver compared to buying separate copies on some other platforms.
Anyone else get decision paralysis when a hold for both the ebook and audiobook comes in at the same time? Now I have to choose which format to start with. First-world reader problems, I guess.
I get analysis paralysis with all these options. Sometimes I just want someone to tell me the single best one to try first. So, for anyone feeling that: get a library card if you don't have one. Download Libby. Try it. It's the closest to a magic, free, legal, all-in-one solution for normal books.
If your library's selection is bad, then try the Scribd free trial. If you only read classics, go to Gutenberg and Librivox. But start with Libby. It's the most straightforward and socially beneficial answer. Everything else is a workaround or a temporary fix.
YouTube is a dark horse for this. Many classic works have full-length audiobook uploads, and if you search the title alongside ‘PDF’ or ‘ebook,’ you can often find the text. Creators sometimes even link to the free text source in the video description. It’s not curated, so quality varies, and you have to avoid the clickbait nonsense.
But for a completely free, browser-based solution where you can have two tabs open (YouTube for audio, a PDF site for text), it’s surprisingly effective. The algorithm won’t recommend your next read, though—it’ll try to send you to game streamers.
