I started with the first one because it was what the library had, and honestly, I'm glad I did. The humor builds on itself, and a lot of the jokes and character introductions in later books make more sense if you've seen where they started. My nephew tried jumping in with book five and was totally confused about who Harold the Hot Dog was and why it was funny.
That said, the first three or four give you a solid feel for the whole series. If you're testing the waters with a kid who's a reluctant reader, you could probably grab any one and they'd still laugh at the flip-o-rama pages. But for the full arc of Petey the cat and the silly ongoing plot, going from the beginning is worth it.

Read them all in order if you can. The early books have a rougher, simpler art style that evolves, and seeing that change is part of the fun. The humor gets more layered, too. Starting with 'Dog Man: The Epic Collection' isn't a bad idea either—it bundles the first few. But really, any order gets you the same core: silly, heartfelt comics that kids devour.

Honestly, the order matters less than you'd think. They're mostly episodic adventures. I've read them out of order to my class based on what was available, and the kids never noticed. The core formula—Dogman, the good-hearted goof, vs. Petey, the grumpy cat with a hidden soft side—is established in every single book.
If you absolutely need an order, just read them by publication date. The character development for Petey is really the only through-line, and it's subtle enough that missing a book won't ruin it. The priority is getting a book in a kid's hands, not maintaining perfect continuity.

Havoc -
A sweet like honey accent and a pair of hips I couldn’t keep my eyes off. That’s how it started.Darcie Summers was playing the part of my old lady to keep herself safe but we both know it’s more than that. There’s something real between us.Something passionate and primal.Something my half brother’s stupidity will rip apart unless I can get to her in time.
Cyber - Everyone has that ONE person that got away, right?
The one who you wished you had treated differently.
For me, that girl has always been Iris.So when she turns up on Savage Sons territory needing help, I am the man for the job.
Every time I look at her I see the beautiful girl I left behind but Iris is no longer that girl.
What I put into motion years ago has shattered her into a million hard little pieces.
And if I’m not careful they will cut my heart out.
Fang-The first time I saw her, she was sat on the side of the road drinking whiskey straight from the bottle.
The second time was when I hit her dog.
I had promised myself never to get involved with another woman after the death of my wife.
But Gypsy was different.
Sweeter, kinder and with a mouth that could make a sailor blush.
She was also too good for me.
I am Fang, President of the Savage Sons. I am not a good man, I’ve taken more lives than I care to admit even to myself.
But I’m going to keep her anyway.

These are a collection of interconnected steamy love stories that can also be read as standalones.
When the moon rises, the line between the beast and man doesn't just blur, it breaks. These are tales of alphas who take what they want and give you everything you never knew you needed.
Raw heat. Primal hunger. The kind of surrender that tastes like release.
Innocence devoured. Control shattered. Pleasure so deep, you'll lose yourself and not want to be found.
No warnings. No escape. No regrets.
Eveline is from a wealthy family and as been jet-setting as an ambassador for her older brother’s werewolf pack, and is learning of the responsibilities that comes with the name Devon and the reality of being the infamous Hellhound’s sister. Darren is the fourth son of an Alpha who has mor sons that he knows what to do with, and is a little adrift in life.
None of them would have expected to find their mate at a political meetup of all the who’s who or werewolf society, and are forced to reconsider their future, the distance separating them, and their families, but those challenges are nothing compared to war and disaster coming their way.
A novel of love, loss, and survival in a city consumed by darkness.
After years on the front lines, Australian Army veteran Jake Michaels returns home to Sydney hoping for peace. Instead, he’s met with tragedy—his father lies comatose after a mysterious car accident, and the only survivor is an eleven-year-old girl with no name and a haunted look in her eyes.
But that’s just the beginning.
A deadly werewolf outbreak is sweeping through the city, transforming ordinary people into savage, unstoppable werewolves. The infection spreads fast, and Sydney is falling. Entire suburbs are lost overnight. The moon no longer matters—once bitten, there’s no turning back.
With chaos in the streets and the government in retreat, Jake finds himself leading a desperate mission across the city. By his side: his ex-girlfriend, a battle-hardened team of soldiers, and the strange girl known only as Jane Doe, who may be the key to everything.
Their destination: Camp Alpha, a heavily fortified base in Parramatta and humanity’s last hope.
But as the group fights to stay alive, Jake discovers that the line between man and monster is thinner than he ever imagined… and some battles must be fought not just with bullets, but with the heart.
Oh, this is actually a simple one. The books for the main series are numbered right on the covers, so that's your easiest guide. It's 'Dog Man', 'Dog Man: Unleashed', 'Dog Man: A Tale of Two Kitties', then 'Dog Man and Cat Kid', 'Dog Man: Lord of the Fleas', 'Dog Man: Brawl of the Wild', 'Dog Man: For Whom the Ball Rolls', 'Dog Man: Fetch-22', and 'Dog Man: Grime and Punishment'.
Stick to that order for the overall character and villain arcs, like the progression with Petey the cat. The more recent ones kind of assume you've seen his earlier changes. Also, there are some companion books like the 'Dog Man: The Supa Buddies Collection' or 'The Cat Kid Comic Club' series, which are fun but exist sort of alongside it. You won't be lost if you read the numbered ones in order, and that's the core of the whole thing.
