As an audiobook listener, this is crucial. The narrator, Colleen Prendergast, becomes Kate Daniels. Listening in the correct order lets you hear her embody Kate's growth, the weariness creeping in, the resilience hardening. The audio production for 'The Murder Wall' onward is consistent and fantastic. Audible has them all listed in number order, which makes it foolproof.
Public service announcement: 'The Killing Room' is book 5. I see people sometimes mix it up with 'The Murder Wall' (book 1) because of the similar titles. They're very different cases! The numbering is your anchor.
I borrowed the first three from a friend who had them in a mismatched pile. I had to text her every time to confirm which one was next. Let my mistake be your guide: just look it up once, write it down, and save yourself the hassle.

WARNING: THIS SERIES IS STRICTLY FOR ADULTS (18+).
Step into a world where every fantasy is explored and no desire is too forbidden. This collection of scorching short stories dives deep into raw passion, taboo cravings, and the kind of encounters that blur the line between temptation and surrender.
From intoxicating age-gap romances that burn with forbidden heat, to sultry girl-on-girl (GG) affairs dripping with desire, to explosive man-on-man (MM) connections that set the pages on fire — and many more sinful delights waiting to be discovered.
Each story is designed to push boundaries, awaken hidden desires, and leave you breathless for more. If you’re ready to indulge in the wild, the daring, and the downright irresistible… this series is your guilty pleasure.
The supporting characters are the best clue for timeline continuity. In a series, you see their lives change: marriages, promotions, retirements. That’s how you know time is moving forward in a believable way. Hannah does that subtly but effectively.
Look at the copyright dates inside the books. The lowest number is the first one. Problem solved. You don't need the internet or fan advice. The books themselves tell you which came first.
I think the standalones are being slept on. 'The Lost' is incredible. It's technically a Kate Daniels book, but it works as a standalone because the case is so insular. Still, you'll get more nuance if you know Kate's backstory. So my recommended chronology is just the two main series in their own order, with standalones featuring familiar characters slotted in later.
