This is my own hack, but I can read chapters on both Webnovel and Tapas in a row. Since both Webnovel and Tapas have almost identical promotions for new users (i.e. free passes and free daily chapters) reading on both will effectively double the amount of free chapters you can read at the beginning. The only catch is that you need to keep track of your progress (since the chapter numbering might differ if the chapters are bundled in a different way) by either keeping track of it mentally or by writing it down in a note somewhere. It requires a bit of extra work, but it works.

Has anyone here actually read this? Is it any good? The premise sounds interesting and it’s a thing I’d read. I’m skeptical of web-serials-turned-ebooks, because so many of them have poor pacing, having been written for daily updates as opposed to one, long novel. If it’s worth the money to buy it, or even just to put a hold on it at my library, then I’ll seek it out. But if it’s just going to be mediocre, then no, I won’t go looking for a free ecopy. But it’s a powerful, unsatisfying read for conventional tastes.
