It’s also worth noting that your Snapchat scores aren’t private in the first place. They’re there for you and for everyone else to see right on your profile whenever you look at someone’s stories and send them messages. You either get to see the number or you don’t. If you can’t see it then maybe the person has blocked you or they’ve removed you from their friends list or they’ve just made their scores private through their own settings. She’s so obsessed with it that it actually becomes part of her scheme to steal her friend’s boyfriend and it’s all just really funny and mortifying in how it reveals the way that these scores can become the main focus of someone’s life.

I remember in high school we would try to get our Snapchat scores up the most because it was like a social status. We would get points for every snap we sent and for every friend we had. Nowadays I don’t even get notifications for my score and I could care less about everyone else’s too. However, if you are dying to know someone’s score and you are trying to find out discreetly, all you have to do is go to their profile and it is right there. But that makes me think, are you just trying to see their score because you are curious or is there something more to it? Are you reading too much into their online activity? Maybe the healthiest thing to do is to shut down the app and just interact with real people.

I have a little cousin and she is “stalking” this guy in middle school. He is her crush. She likes to look at his Snapchat activity without him knowing. Honestly, I don’t know of any way to look at someone’s Snapchat privately. Even if you can see someone’s score, I bet they can tell that you looked at it. It’s pretty easy to see who looked at your Snapchat when you look at someone else’s. I think you should just be honest and tell the person that you are trying to get to know better that you are trying to get to know them better. Their score goes up when they send or receive a Snapchat. So if you really care about this person then just send them a Snapchat and then see if your score goes up.

Right now, your Snapchat scores show up to your friends by default. If someone isn’t on your friends list, you won’t be able to see their score. Even if they are on your friends list, though, if you frequently check to see their score, that will show up in their activity. If you really want to keep something private, the only way to do it is to not check someone’s score at all. You could also wait until they post a story and then check your score in that, but that’s not really that sneaky because you’d still be checking. Ultimately, though, their score is just a number.

With Paid Stories receiving their own set of awards that reward commercial success, the traditional Watty Awards, which reward stories that receive tons of ad-supported love and interact greatly with their community, are catering to a different type of reader and therefore a different type of writer. So, we now have to decide early on which type of success we want to go for and then tailor our writing, genre and even the length of our chapters as well as the update frequency in order to receive the most awards and accolades for our work.
