Demanding All Of You

Demanding All Of You

She’s playing hard to get, and I love it. I decided a long time ago to let my career as a high-powered New York Editor and my son be my only focuses. But my family had hoped for a different fate. As much as I miss them, I’ve lost touch with them, and with love in general. Wealth calls to me after my grandfather dies and leaves me his billions. But there’s one catch. There always is, right? I have to live on the farm I grew up on for six months and take a break from my big city life. It’s worth it and maybe my little boy will enjoy the time with me. One thing I never expected was a beautiful woman to show up and steal our hearts. She’s everything I want in my life and my bed. But she’s a tough cookie. I’m up for the challenge. There’s nothing I’ve wanted in life that I haven’t gotten. Unfortunately for her, I don’t want just six months in Montana. I’m demanding all of her.

YOU WAITED

YOU WAITED

He stood in front of me, held my face between his hands and stared down at me. I waited, once again, I did. For what? This time I didn't know. But the moment he spoke, I knew, the wait was over. "You waited." He said. I gasped. " You waited." He breathed.

Expectation Of Love

Expectation Of Love

"I'm sorry for what I'm about to tell you. I just don't want you to have any misconceptions about this marriage." "What do you mean?" "I don't like beating about the bush, so I will go straight to the point. I don't like you and don't want to get married to you. I had to consent because my mother requested this from me, and I just couldn't say no to her." "What are you now trying to say?" "You shouldn't have any expectations from me or from this marriage."

Unexpected Future

Unexpected Future

We think and we expect! We do this both a lot and without these there is not much to do. Will there be any action without expecting a future from it? If so, then that is amazing. However, it is not in most people’s worlds. And mainly in four people’s world who had this vivid description of expectations for their futures, but ended up with another vivid unexpected futures. Everything was simple from the beginning in their own perspectives, but it was not from the beginning in real sense and it keeps on moving far away from simple with each moment and in the end turns the lives upside down but not the four people’s because one of them got what they want but still went with the flow like an innocent. With that confusion, misconceptions arise and secrets will be revealed along with a clearance of misunderstandings and what not. It all seems to be too much of a trap, but what can anyone do when they really got trapped by the destiny or is it something else. All this can either be described as “What is meant to be always finds a way” or as “Karma is really a bitch”… Let’s see what can be the perfect description…

Deserve!

Deserve!

“I still don’t understand how Dad fell for my Mom. I mean she is Indian and he is Australian. How did he?” I asked him tapping my chin. “That’s the specialty of Indian women. Anyone can fall in love with them.” He replied shrugging like it is the silliest question. “Do only Indian women have that specialty or even men?” I asked raising my eyebrow. “Of course!” he replied pulling me to him. “But I am unable to see anything special in you though.” I mumbled to which he narrowed his eyes. “Then the problem must be in you.” He mumbled back with a strong glare. “Ouch! Anyway, do you have the specialty you are saying to deserve me?” I asked him smirking. “What?” he asked with shocked face. I laughed before pushing him away and rushed towards the main gate thinking he will just catch me. However, I turned around and asked him “Do you?” with a serious tone this time. ------------------- A girl who wishes that the people with whom she stays must deserve her but not because she wants to feel arrogant or superior. It is just so that she can get assurance that she will not get hurt by them. She will not settle for anything less no matter what…

Expired Expectation

Expired Expectation

Astrid was aware that her daughter, Coco, loved her father. The problem was that the father, Isaiah, did not love her, nor did he love Coco; he only ever allowed Coco to address him as uncle. After Isaiah dismissed the three chances Coco gave him, she decided she was going to leave him for good. It was only then that Isaiah changed his mind and started pleading desperately, “My dear, I want nothing more than to hear you call me your father.”

What is the main theme of Expectation?

The main theme of 'Expectation' revolves around the tension between dreams and reality, particularly how societal pressures and personal ambitions shape our lives. The novel follows three women navigating love, career, and motherhood, each grappling with the gap between what they envisioned and what actually unfolds. It's a raw exploration of female friendship too—how it fractures under envy or strengthens through shared vulnerability.

What struck me most was its honesty about aging. The characters aren't just mourning lost youth; they're confronting the quiet betrayals of their own choices. The prose lingers on mundane moments—a childhood memory of apple picking, a late-night kitchen argument—to expose how expectations calcify into regret or, sometimes, unexpected contentment.

Who are the main characters in Expectation?

The novel 'Expectation' revolves around three deeply intertwined women whose lives reflect the messy, beautiful chaos of adulthood. Hannah, the ambitious one, pours herself into her career but grapples with infertility and a marriage that feels increasingly fragile. Cate, the free spirit, drifts through life with artistic dreams but struggles with commitment and self-destructive tendencies. Lissa, the poised actress, hides her insecurities behind a glamorous facade, battling the pressure to maintain her fading spotlight.

Their friendship is the heart of the story—full of love, envy, and unspoken resentments. What makes them compelling is how raw their flaws are; they aren’t heroines but real women stumbling through expectations (pun intended) of womanhood, motherhood, and success. Anna Hope’s writing makes you feel like you’re eavesdropping on their late-night wine-fueled confessions.

How does Unmet Expectations end?

The ending of 'Unmet Expectations' really caught me off guard, but in a way that felt satisfyingly bittersweet. The protagonist, after struggling with their idealized vision of love and success, finally confronts the reality that life doesn’t always follow a script. The climax hinges on a quiet moment of realization—no grand gestures, just a raw conversation where they admit their own flaws and the unfairness of their expectations. It’s messy, human, and oddly comforting.

What sticks with me is how the story doesn’t tie everything up neatly. Side characters don’t magically reconcile; some relationships remain fractured. But there’s a glimmer of hope in the protagonist’s decision to keep moving forward, even without guarantees. It’s a rare ending that acknowledges pain while refusing to let it define the future. I finished the last page feeling like I’d grown alongside them.

What happens at the ending of The Expectation Effect?

I just finished reading 'The Expectation Effect' last week, and that ending hit me like a ton of bricks! The book builds up this intricate exploration of how our beliefs shape reality, weaving in psychology studies and personal anecdotes. Then, in the final chapters, it takes a sharp turn—instead of a tidy conclusion, the author leaves you with this haunting question: 'What if expectations aren’t just lenses but actual architects of our lives?' It’s not a cliffhanger, more like an open-ended invitation to rethink everything. The last scene describes a simple experiment where two groups perform identically until they’re told their 'potential,' at which point their results wildly diverge. It made me put the book down and stare at the wall for a good ten minutes, wondering how many of my own limits were self-imposed.

What’s brilliant is how the ending circles back to early themes without feeling repetitive. There’s no grand resolution, just this lingering sense of agency—like the real ending happens off the page, in how you choose to apply the ideas. I’ve already caught myself noticing expectation patterns in my daily life, especially around work deadlines. It’s rare for nonfiction to leave such an active aftertaste!

Who are the main characters in The Expectation Effect?

The Expectation Effect' isn't a title I recognize from fiction—it sounds more like a psychology or self-help book! If we're talking about fictional stories with similar themes, though, I can think of a few where expectations shape the plot. Take 'Great Expectations' by Charles Dickens, where Pip's life is transformed by mysterious wealth and social ambition. His journey revolves around Miss Havisham, the jilted bride frozen in time, and Estella, who's raised to break hearts. Then there's Joe Gargery, Pip's humble brother-in-law, who represents unconditional love.

If you meant a different book, maybe one about how expectations influence reality, I'd love to hear more! Stories about self-fulfilling prophecies always fascinate me, like in 'The Alchemist,' where Santiago's beliefs drive his destiny. Either way, expectations make for compelling character arcs—whether in classics or modern tales.

Why does The Expectation Effect focus on mindset?

I couldn't put 'The Expectation Effect' down because it felt like someone finally put into words what I've experienced in my own life. The book digs deep into how our mindset isn't just some abstract idea—it literally shapes our reality. I noticed this when I started approaching stressful situations at work differently; suddenly, deadlines felt challenging instead of crushing.

What's wild is how the book ties this to neuroscience. Our brains aren't passive observers—they're prediction machines constantly adjusting based on what we expect. When I tried visualizing successful outcomes before presentations, the actual events started matching up way more often. It's not magic, just our biology responding to the narratives we feed it. The chapter on placebo effects in everyday life completely changed how I view morning routines.
