Ice Age Apocalypse: I Level Up by Causing Trouble

Ice Age Apocalypse: I Level Up by Causing Trouble

On Christmas Eve, my uncle, Garrett Wayne, takes a sip from the fancy whiskey I bought. Then, he points at me while grinning. "Well well well… I've been watching you since you were a kid, Flint. You were a bed-wetter when you were a little boy, and now that you're all grown up, you stay cooped in your parents' shop while running that social media account of yours. You don't have any skills at all. "My Ronnie, on the other hand, has an amazing job that will continue paying him and keeping him around no matter how hard times get. Small businesses like your family's will definitely crumble as soon as the tiniest change happens in the global economy!" All of my relatives roar in laughter at Garrett's quip. My cousin, Ronnie Wayne, pretends to be playing on his phone, though his grin has already become ear-splitting. Mom and Dad can only laugh along as well even though deep down they are very uneasy and anxious. I just gaze at Garrett coldly. In six hours, the blizzard apocalypse will descend onto this world. At the same time, a zombie outbreak will occur across the globe. In my previous life, Garrett, who had looked down on my family and me, didn't hesitate to push us into the upcoming zombie horde just to take over my parents' grocery store. In this lifetime, I swear that I will never let him off the hook! I'm about to pick up a plate of food and smash it onto Garrett's head when I hear a mechanical voice chiming in my head. "Ding! You have been bound with the Rage System! You may talk back and retort to others to your liking in exchange for supplies. The more arrogant you sound, the better supplies you'll receive!" As I look at Garrett's insufferable face, I let out a chuckle. "Oh yeah, I'm not skilled at all. But I suddenly remember this funny little thing. Uncle Garrett, you claimed that you had gone on a business trip to Brimstone eight years ago. But the truth is, you got arrested by the vice squad, right? "Does Aunt Cassia know about this?"

How do skills improve in i somehow got strong by raising skills related to farming?

Man, I just caught up on the latest chapters of 'I Somehow Got Strong by Raising Skills Related to Farming' yesterday, and the system is wild. It’s not a straightforward, traditional level-up at all. The protagonist, Hira, basically gets a god-tier skill called 'Life Cultivation' from his farmer class, which everyone writes off as useless. But the whole trick is in the synergy and hidden multipliers.

He grinds basic stuff like 'Soil Tilling' and 'Seed Sowing' to absurd levels, and that unlocks crazy passive bonuses that apply to everything—like increased vitality, strength gains from manual labor, and eventually, nature-based elemental resistance. His 'Harvest' skill at a high level literally lets him reap 'experience' and 'stat points' from the crops he grows. The power scaling feels earned because it’s all tied to his daily, monotonous farm work, which I find weirdly satisfying. The recent arc where he uses a maxed-out 'Pest Control' skill to instantly nullify a swarm of magical locusts that a whole guild of adventurers couldn’t handle was hilarious.

It’s less about combat and more about breaking the world’s logic with sheer, stubborn dedication to a single lifestyle.

What is the main plot of i somehow got strong by raising skills related to farming?

Man, that title always cracks me up. It's exactly what it says on the tin: a guy gets reincarnated into a fantasy world that runs on RPG logic, and for some reason he decides to pour all his points into farming-related skills like tilling, animal husbandry, and herbalism. Everyone thinks he's a useless weakling because he's not swinging a sword, but then his crops start yielding insane mana-infused fruits that boost stats, his tilling skill accidentally creates earthquake-level tremors, and the animals he raises are basically mythical beasts. The plot is a slow, cozy power fantasy about him building a life on his farm, unintentionally solving national crises with his harvests, and watching all the 'real' heroes and nobles lose their minds. The fun is in the juxtaposition of his peaceful daily routines against the sheer, world-breaking power they conceal.

I breezed through the web novel version last month. It’s less about epic battles and more about the satisfying schadenfreude when the arrogant guild master who mocked him has to beg for a single carrot to cure a plague. The main tension comes from him trying to keep his peaceful farmer façade while the kingdom’s leadership increasingly suspects this rural bumpkin is their only hope against the Demon Lord's army, which is ironically advancing right toward his… fertilizer stockpile.

Is i somehow got strong by raising skills related to farming worth reading?

Funny, I tried reading that one after seeing the title pop up everywhere. Honestly, it felt like a collection of system notifications for the first few chapters. So many blue boxes. It scratches a very specific itch if you're into the numbers-go-up aspect of LitRPG and find farming mechanics genuinely relaxing.

I stuck with it for about fifty chapters. The main character is a bit of a non-entity, mostly a vehicle for skill acquisition. The fun, for me, was seeing how the author stretched the concept—like turning 'plowing' into a combat skill with earth magic. It's brain-off comfort food, not a complex meal. I'd say it's worth a read if you're in the mood for something low-stakes and predictable, but don't expect it to surprise you.

There's a weirdly calming rhythm to the progression, even if the prose is functional at best.

Are there any anime adaptions of i somehow got strong by raising skills related to farming?

A friend actually recommended this one to me after I was on a big isekai binge last year. The title is a real mouthful, 'I Somehow Got Strong by Raising Skills Related to Farming', but the story is straightforward: a guy gets sent to another world and his cheat skill is… farming. He gets stronger by doing farm work. It’s exactly the kind of niche, cozy premise I love.

As for an anime, there isn’t one yet. I check every season for news, but it's still just a light novel and manga series. The manga adaptation is pretty popular, so an anime feels possible, maybe in a year or two. I’d watch it in a heartbeat for the slice-of-life vibes and the oddly satisfying progression of watching a field get plowed.

It reminds me of 'Farming Life in Another World' which did get an anime. Maybe if that one does well, it’ll open the door for this title too. Here’s hoping.

How does the Superpower Small Farmer protagonist gain powers?

3 Réponses2025-10-17 15:37:31
What grabbed me about how the protagonist in 'Superpower Small Farmer' gets their abilities is that it feels almost sacred rather than sci-fi accidental. In the beginning, they inherit a battered heirloom — a hand-forged hoe with an odd symbol — and a half-forgotten plot of land behind a farmhouse. When the protagonist first tills the earth with that hoe, the soil answers: a faint pulse, a shimmer, and then a clear bond forms. It’s portrayed like a pact more than a power-up; the land recognizes genuine care and lets down a sliver of its ancient vitality.

From there, the mechanism is intriguingly systemic. The hoe is both relic and conduit, and the land hosts a dormant presence I think of as the 'field spirit.' Everyday farming tasks — planting seeds, weeding, watering, composting — act like a ritual that converts mundane labor into spiritual currency. Each harvest cycles that currency back into the protagonist, unlocking incremental abilities: seed acceleration, pheromone-like calls that attract helpful creatures, soil-sensing that reveals hidden nutrients or danger. Even livestock care becomes part of the leveling, so it’s not just raw combat strength but a suite of eco-centered talents.

I love that the story keeps the growth organic: the protagonist’s powers mirror their stewardship. Mistreat the land, and the bond falters; nurture it, and small miracles accumulate. It reads like a love letter to patience and craft, and honestly I find the way power is earned through respect for the earth quietly inspiring.
