As the transmigrators grapple with their modern ethics in a fantastical world, they experience hilarious and often biting interactions. The ex-police office is on a quest to hunt down a single yakuza member that he shares a strange connection with and their high-stakes chases through fantasy forests are interspersed with thrilling bouts of kendo fighting combined with their respective SWAT and yakuza fighting styles. Meanwhile, the otaku transmigrator is bouncing around the kingdom trying to turn every good story into a Dating Sim – getting everyone’s skin in a twist.

There’s also the very public works obsessed paladin, Sir Galen. He’s been trying to get the Crown to build aquaducts, public baths, and sewers for years. All of his ‘holy quests’ seem to boil down to walking across a piece of land to determine the best route for pipes. As it happens he’s a civil engineer and is appalled by the humble chamber pot being emptied in the street.

Kael the rival adventurer is so underappreciated. He’s the typical ‘cool’ rival to our hero, but instead of using typical martial arts in his combat, he uses MMA moves and parksours. In fact, he’s trying to invent pizza and bemoan the lack of coffee in most of the places he visits. The hero of this story and Kael will eventually become friends due to their shared disdain of the dungeon’s horrible moss rations.
