Beneath The Mask
I call out, trying to sound normal.
The door opens slowly, and I freeze when I see who steps in. Prince.
He closes the door behind him, his movements tense and deliberate. I stare at him, a flicker of warmth sparking in my chest despite myself. He’s here, and he’s alone. That has to mean something, doesn’t it?
I stand and take a step toward him, but before I can say anything, his hand snaps out, shoving me back.
“It wasn’t even twenty-four hours before you caused shit,” Prince spits, his voice sharp and accusatory.
