Theresa looked closely at him and noticed that he was eating a mushroom. She squatted and examined him with interest as she looked at his transparent head which seemed to contain an image of the galaxy with millions of stars and nine balls which might be the nine planets rotating around a bigger orb which she guessed was the sun and was the major source of the light shining in its head. It was like the creature had the entire universe in its transparent large head.

While the plant provides power for most of the state, it does not require that many employees to run it so the town remains small. Amaris threw off the plain white sheets and rolled out of the twin bed that lay nestled against the wall and in the corner of the room. When she was a child, Amaris would push the bed back against the wall every night so that she could lay at the foot of her bed and look out her window at the moon. There was nothing more beautiful than the sight of the full moon in all her glory.

The illuminated manuscript shows two wolves, one midnight black, one silver, standing beneath a crescent moon. Behind each wolf’s ear is a small, glowing mark identical to the ones Zane and I share.

I look out the window looking at the skies and the star, and I think of the huge mess the moon goodness put me in, “Moon goddess is this how you pair your mates, evil people to exploit the good, then never let me be paired with anyone else again, let me be alone and die alone, being alone would be better than this pain.” I walk towards my room and cry myself to sleep, I will never trust another woman again.
