he said. "Okay, let's do this. Who knows, that third book is already on its way," Cela said. Hyun's eyes grew bigger. Thankfully, they are just talking on the phone and Cela can't see how excited he is to hear the news first hand from her. Tomorrow will be perfect.

"Who in the world are you, and what is this car accident about?" I asked, pulling on the handbrake with all my might. Still shaken, I stared at the crash site not far away, my back drenched in cold sweat. Someone with a voice identical to mine spoke through the phone. "Do not doubt me. I am you from three years in the future. That's why I know about all these." However, this felt absurd to me. I was convinced it was a tech-savvy voice-phishing scammer who was manipulating my voice.

Melanie's eyes flashed with anger, and suddenly she clutched her stomach while exclaiming, "My stomach... Is the baby coming?!" Henry's face twisted in sudden panic, and he swept Melanie into his arms, bolting for the door. As he rushed by, Melanie's hand shot out, gripping my arm with a fierce tug. I stumbled, crashing to the ground as Wren's gasp echoed in my ears. Pain washed over me, turning my face ghostly pale. Wren, shaking, lifted me up, her voice breaking as she called for a doctor. Through the blur, I caught Henry hesitating for a split second, but then, he was gone, not once looking back.

There's a pause on the other end, and for a moment all I hear is static and his ragged breathing. "Rhydar," he says finally, his voice low and uneven. "We have a... problem." My chest knots. "What kind of problem?" He gives me another long silence before he reluctantly responds. "The body. It's gone." I blink, not sure I heard him right. "What do you mean it's gone?" "I mean exactly that. One minute it was there, cold as stone. Next minute—vanished. No tracks, no blood trail, no sign of a struggle. Just... gone." His voice cracks slightly, and I can tell even Theo doesn't believe his own words.

Pathetic. This body was still pathetic. Three days. That was what I had gathered from the whispers outside. Three days to reach Ragnar Dravenhart’s empire. “All of it.” “Good girl.” The praise landed low in my belly, making me ache. He leaned in and pressed his mouth to the side of my neck, just below my ear, lips warm and firm against my skin. “Third rule. You tell me everything. What you’re feeling. What you want. What’s too much. I can read your body, but I need your words too. I need to hear you say it when you’re close. When it feels too good. When you’re scared. When you need more. Can you do that for me?”

He couldn't even make sounds. He could hear a voice say something. It sounded like a shout. Or shouts. The boy couldn't distinguish for the pain. Just when he thought he would die for sure, when his vision had gone red and was going a darker shade, his body dropped to the ground. He could numbly feel his body hit the ground, but he wasn't too sure from the pain that blinded his vision and bloated up his nerves, numbing them. It must have taken him a minute or more before everything finally started to settle back. His hearing and vision came back in echoes before finally settling in balance. His limbs weren't quite recovered though.
