Summer's POV Standing in the middle of a park Summer checked her watch for the fifth time. She and Asher had arrived at their current location five minutes prior and were currently waiting for Reggie and Taylor to make their appearance. She knew that they were ten minutes early for their appointment time, but she just couldn't stop the anxiety that was rushing through her. "Time won't go faster with you watching it." Asher who was smoking a cigarette noted. "That's a bad habit." Summer barked back taking a hit at the addiction that Asher had developed within the six years that they weren't together.

“Your ten seconds start now. If you’re late, I’ll press the button, and everyone will die together!” Summer’s entire body was tense as she stared at the people. Her heart kept clenching in fear. “Ten… Nine…” “Are you insane?! What do you actually want?!” Summer cried and yelled. In her anxiety, she tried to struggle free of the ropes with all her might. What did they actually want her to do? “Just kill me! I beg you!”

The flight to New York feels endless. I’m in a middle seat between a businessman who snores and a teenager who won’t stop playing games on his phone with the volume up. But I barely notice.
