Elena's POV I stirred in my sleep and felt something very soft under me. It felt like I am sleeping on clouds, so soft and comfortable. I don't want to wake up. I snuggled more into the clouds to feel heaven. But then I realized that I am not into heaven but in hell. I opened my eyes to see the devil sitting on the couch with a cigarette in between his fingers. His expressions were neutral and his eyes were unreadable as always. He was looking at nothing in particular. It seems like he is planning the murder of someone.

she whispered, "are you okay?" He lifted his head to look at her, "I'm in heaven, baby."

Jeffrey was displeased, "You’ve got the room. What?" Joanna replied in a sad tone, "It's a video conference from the branch over in the Utedes. You have to personally attend, Mr. Chaney." Jeffrey glanced at me in his arms and helplessly put me down. My body stiffened, and I couldn't speak. "You go to my room and wait for me." Jeffrey said and walked towards Joanna. The two of them entered the room and closed the door. The bright light disappeared. I felt relieved, but the cold sweat had long soaked through my clothes.

She looks first at my eyes, then slowly moves her eyes to look at my outfit, more specifically my boobs. I was wearing ripped mom jeans, a red with cherries crop top that showed cleavage, and on my feet were my black and white converse. "Can we talk?" Heaven asks staring directly into my eyes. I didn't even get the chance to speak when Heaven grabs my hands and pulls me away to god knows where. Thankfully, no one was staring at us so nobody really noticed we were gone. Heaven drags me to the janitors closet, and shuts the door leaving me speechless.

So safe and so friendly. Dr. Kole? Sky blinks his eyes twice, thrice, again and again, but he is seeing the same person. Dr. Kole is the exact replica of Kai. What is this again? Is heaven so angry with him that they twist his fate and made the person he first asks for help looks the same as his husband? Is his suffering not enough? Are five years not enough for gods to pity him? to at least let him have just a little glimmer of hope?

I wanted him to see where I came from. The drive took eight hours. We left before dawn, the sky still dark, the roads empty. Eli drove the first shift while I slept in the passenger seat, my head against the window. Then I drove while he dozed. We stopped at a gas station for snacks and bad coffee. We listened to music and talked about nothing and everything.

Aurelian did not react. But the meaning was clear. Absolute. A wish. From the Creator. Nothing more needed to be said. “You are given time.” The Archangel’s voice remained steady. “Fifty years.” “To prepare.” Time did not hold the same weight in Heaven. And yet, it mattered. “Those chosen will represent Heaven.”
