He scratches her behind her ears, ''It was believed that dragons were extinct, but we found frozen eggs in these mountains. We hatched them with fire and kept them hidden for many years. They are remarkable really; they chose a human to bond with and accept nobody else. Only their master can ride them, and they would die for their master.'' I slowly approach the female and she snorts at me which makes smoke come out of her nose. Gabriel pets her nose, ''It's okay Dagahra, she is with me, and I like her, okay?''

Hello, everyone! This is XSkylar19. It has been a very interesting ride for me while writing Bane of the Dragons because (fun fact) this was my very first dragon genre. I know some of you probably disliked how everything turned out or how fastpaced everything happened but know that this was intentional as I couldn't drag the story on. Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre.

"Please." With another grumble, he begins the story. "Drakon, the king of dragons, fell in love with the daughter of a Goddess. He courted her knowing she was his true mate. When he finally consummated their union, he discovered she had given her virginity to another. He was mated to a woman who would never transcend. In his great rage, he killed her." We both remain quiet until he speaks again a few minutes later. "A dragon's rage is incomparable to anything you've ever seen. Mine is worse. You cannot want to be around me if I'm ever in that condition."

“What? When, brother?” Ghaeron forced himself to share the tale of his great shame, one that he had shared with no one since the early days of life on Edon. “Shortly after Mother and Father had brought forth the first life here on Edon, I became fascinated with the complex weaving of mystical forces that had been utilized to do so. Such variety of living creatures had come into being! Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Minotaurs, and a host of lesser known beings, all benign and given great potential for growth. I knew immediately that it was one of the three dragons I hadn’t met and because of her scent, I knew it was the fire dragon. We’d all been told that there was only one possible way to save these dragons. If any of us identified them as a mate, we were to try and claim them as their riders were dying, giving them a new reason to live. We all know it’s not a foolproof plan. Hearing sad stories was painful, especially living alone in a strange place. Draco felt that his life was a responsibility he had to fulfill for the future of the dragons. He didn't have time to think about himself. He didn't even know whether he deserved love or not. His life was a duty and responsibility, nothing else. Mama Hazel, her voice filled with warmth and emotion, brought the story to life, her words painting vivid images in Theo's mind. Theo, captivated by the dragon's adventures, followed every twist and turn of the story, his imagination soaring with each page.
