A Tale Of Two Hearts

A Tale Of Two Hearts

said a blonde hair girl. "Good to see you Tori I used to study at Tombstone high and my parents shifted here a month ago" Their conversation was going on meanwhile the door of the canteen opened and banged so hard making a wild and loud sound. A boy with oily hair and half-broken glasses fell from outside, dropping the books he held in his hand. A guy wearing a black leather jacket stepped inside with two boys standing back like his bodyguards. Everyone looked at him with fear, it felt like he was the son of a mafia boss.

One of them called, I turned. "The books you requested are on top of your bed." Delilah said. "Thanks, Delilah." I mumbled before walking away. Miss Elena sounds much better, ah. I sat on the cushion in the room, flipping into the pages of 'The Tale of two cities.' It was the first edition and I was astonished at how the first could be found here. I also noticed that all the five books she brought were of the first edition of each one of them. I was still reading 'The death riders' when I found myself dozing off.

"What book this is- the author and the year it was written?" It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going the direct other way... "Charles Dickens, A Tale of two cities- Written in 1859" I answered after reading what was written on the board.

Seeing her eyes sparkle at the very mention of studying art in Paris, I was reminded of my past self. In my past life, when I was preparing to apply myself, my eyes were filled with the same hopes and aspirations. She really was similar to me. "Are you mute?" Horace stared at me in dissatisfaction. "I gave you those materials, so do you think hiding them is going to be…" Without any hesitation, I turned around and took all the materials I had from my drawer, handing them over. Probably since he expected me to resist and for there to be a confrontation, Horace froze for a moment when he saw me give away the materials without any word of complaint.

It took me all my strength to free myself from his embrace before dropping on my knees, panting, "I-I'll get the doctor!" Before I could move, he had pushed himself up and wrapped his arms firmly around my waist. "Are you trying to run?" His kisses quickly covered my nape, leaving me stiffening. I remembered the rumors about Joey's throat being chewed through and her blood drained dry, and I got goosebumps right then. "Stop! Please don't eat me! I want to live! Just let me go, and I'll tell you everything I know!" I felt him pause, just as the doctor arrived at the doorway. "Alpha, I brought the antidote…"

He wouldn’t last two minutes with me before he ran off crying. Maybe that was it. This was my chance to finally get back at him for all those years of bullying me. That was laughable. I scanned the library's aisles until I came upon a beloved classic; A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens. I fell in love with this book freshman year of high school, and the tormented and tragic life of Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay. I found a corner of the library where there was a desk and chair to sit and read. I was so invested in the words I had read a thousand times; that I didn’t hear anyone approach me.

Grayson stands off to the side, unobtrusive. My palms are clammy. My brain instantly short wires. But then a grand plan pops into my head. So genius. I point to the book we’d discussed the previous evening. There’s no bookmark sticking out, so I’m guessing he hasn’t yet begun A Tale of Two Cities. I ask, “May I read with you?”

He had obviously read it much more than once. "I've never heard of it..." I admitted to which he instantly feigned hurt. "I don't really like reading, after the new world I didn't really have the time to do any, I can't even remember what my favorite book was." He placed a small piece of paper into the page he was on and closing the book over quickly, before placing it onto the table next to the bed. "My favorite, is A Tale Of Two Cities." He smiled before getting out of bed and walking over to the small shelf of books, pulling out an old battered one and handing it to me.

excellent work author and I think I understand the reasons why you insisted so much on this pain during the first pages. I am sure that Dylan will not remain without her arm, like all those who are still alive and were mutilated during the battle, she will ask the goddess for help on this subject.

I Wish they would make physical versions of it. This is one of the few stories of this type that I'm really enjoying to read. I'm still in chapter 20. I hope they keep the quality... but, until now, this book is definitely my favorite from all the ones that is in apps there is like this one.

In the back of the room, someone guffawed. "Jane?" "I read A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens. It has 422 pages." Jane tried to say it in a matter-of-fact tone, but she couldn't keep the glee out of her voice. Then she read her page. Like Emily's, it told mainly what the book was about. But the plot of the A Tale of Two Cities was so complicated that it was that easy to summarize in a page.

The library. It was breathtaking. Rows upon rows of towering bookshelves stretched upward endlessly, connected by elegant rolling ladders and a winding iron staircase leading to a second level balcony lined with even more books. The scent hit me instantly- aged paper, leather bindings, cedarwood shelves. I felt like I could breathe again.. Without thinking, I stepped inside. My fingertips trailed over countless spines until one caught my eye. A Tale of Two Cities. I pulled it free and sat near the tall window tucked into the corner.
