“I feel better now that you’re here,” I whisper.
Ares smiles, leaning over the bed and hugging me tight. He plants another kiss on my lips, this one more comforting than passionate. “I know things have been hard lately, but I want you to know that I’m here for you, and I would do anything for you.” He meets my eyes and cups my chin. “I love you, Valeria.”
“I love you too,” I say, leaning in for another kiss.
