Their bodies were grotesquely muscled, with jaws that could swallow a man’s head and claws as long as daggers. Their eyes were the worst part—the pupils were vertical slashes, exploded and bloody, set in whites so bloodshot they appeared a sickening, demonic red. They were the bane of the all supernatural kind. Crazed creatures with only one drive: bloodlust.

Wolves twisted and malformed, their bodies fused with unnatural machinery, rushed toward the pack. Their howls were warped, more machine than beast. Annabel didn’t hesitate. “Hold the line!” she shouted. “Don’t let them separate us!” The pack moved as one, forming a defensive circle. The first wave of abominations hit hard, their claws striking with mechanical precision. Annabel tore through one, its synthetic flesh peeling back to reveal glowing wires and exposed steel.
