Like the quiet before a storm. He leaned in a little closer. Not threatening. Not touching. But too close for comfort. “Amira, right?” he read her name tag. “Look, I just need to talk to him. He’s my brother. He’s probably waiting for me. Might even be wondering what’s taking me so long.” Frank chuckled softly. “You don’t want to make trouble for yourself over a silly mistake, do you?” Amira straightened a little, her chin lifting just barely. “I’m sorry, sir,” she repeated, voice thinner now. “I really can’t help you.”

All eyes turn to us, even as our colleagues are trying their darnest not to look they are staring. "I'm sorry," Amy says as soon as she gets to my desk. "Sorry for what, exactly?" I reply, leaning back in my seat and eyeing her in a way that makes her tremble with more fear. "For the accident," she mumbles. "I didn't think that it would cause a car crash or threaten your life. You nearly died, and the guilt has been eating me up since then. It didn't occur to me...." "So you're not sorry for drugging me, just for the fact that it caused an accident," I cut in coldly. "And let me guess, you're not sorry for stealing my idea for the Tech Wizard competition, either."

I thought Jessica would keep her away from me forever. I lift Amy’s small body and she hugs me with all her might, with her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist. I look ahead and meet Aiden’s gaze. “What happened?” I ask again, to him. “I got you this visit to cheer you up,” he explains obviously, pointing at Amy, “I’ve been trying for days but Jessica kept refusing, until yesterday. Amy was playing with fire…” “I didn’t do it on purpose,” Amy murmurs against my ear and hugs me even tighter. Now this display of affection makes a bit more sense; she did something wrong, “It was an accident.”

Every few minutes, she would sneak a glance at Ace, who was lounging by the doorway, phone in hand, completely relaxed. But Amy kept fidgeting. As the nail technician worked on my toes, I leaned closer to her. “Did you see someone, sweetheart? Someone who looked like Ace?” Amy bit her lip. Then she nodded. “Where?” She pointed again toward the restaurant wing of the mall. Ace looked up at us. “Something wrong?” I hesitated before answering. “Amy says she saw someone who looked like you.” He blinked. “Like me? Like… me-me?” “Yeah,” I said softly. “She is a little rattled.”

I don't want to let her go, but this is the first time I've been in the same room with her and not done something stupid so I decide I should try not to make it awkward. "How about some lemon loaf?" I ask and Harper lets out a real laugh. "Yes, please. I love how you remember my order." She says and I grin at her, rounding the counter and grabbing an extra large piece. "I only remember yours." I say, placing it on the counter before starting her drink. "Really?" She asks, surprise evident in her tone. I feel my face flame in a blush and turn away from her to grab a carton of milk. "Yeah." I admit. I hadn't really meant to say that and embarrassment flames through me.

I grabbed my car keys with trembling hands. On my way out, I accidentally knocked a picture frame from the table. It crashed to the ground, the glass splitting right across a photo of Damien and me at one of our first dates. My breath caught in my throat. An omen? Or just clumsy hands? Either way, my pulse wouldn’t settle. Moments later, I was speeding down the road, anxiety clawing at me. The steering wheel rattled under my grip as I tapped my fingers restlessly against it. My chest ached with each passing second.

Andy is definitely connecting the dots well and I can't let that happen. This is the perfect moment to activate my soft tool. I pinched my cheek a little and as expected, it turned red. Vulnerability wore over me like a coat, I also managed to gather a fake tear in my eyes. “I didn't know you were going to suspect this soon…” I intentionally zoned off. Andy got alarmed, he quietly packed by the road side and apologized for causing me pain. “Actually, something did happen between Kyle and I but I don't want to talk about it yet. I am afraid that it will really affect Kyle,” I sniffed.

We are not accidents anymore. After he placed the ring on my finger, Damian kissed my lips, and there were fireworks! I stared at the colorful skies and realized that there are no accidents in life. Accidents are merely redirections to our true destiny. As I looked into Damian’s eyes, I was convinced more than ever that my accidental husband, my former brother-in-law, was the real thing, because I chose him and will continue to choose him, today, tomorrow, and for always.

I didn't know what to speak at all or should I have spoken or not? "It's acceptable. We need to be more careful. Daniel is right." Gabriel voiced out. After breakfast, everyone left when Amy suddenly hugged me. "I'm so sorry babes. I am sorry. It's all my fault." She said with a heavy voice. "Wait.. Amy. What are you saying?" I asked, breaking our hug. She closed her eyes tightly and when she opened them, tears started flowing down. "I… I shouldn't have left then. If I was there at that moment, nothing would have happened of any sort. It's all my fault. I can't even imagine you in….?
