Baking With Amy Novels & Stories

"Yes." "You can't cook." "I can." "You once burned rice." "I was distracted." "By what?" "You." She rolled her eyes. "That excuse won't work twice." "We'll see." The kitchen was filled with the smell of garlic and spices when Amy walked in. She stopped. Zion stood at the counter wearing a plain T-shirt, sleeves pushed up, concentrating intensely on a pan. She folded her arms. "What are you making?" "Don't interfere." "I was only asking." "Sit."

Damien took my hand as we walked inside the mansion into the dinning room. "You need to have your breakfast.", Damien stated. On the table there was cheese omlet and strawberry smoothie. Along with there was a small gift kept in between the table. "This is Amy's gift. Open it up. You will love it. She had done a lot of hard work on it.", Damien stated and I nodded my head while I opened it up with care. Inside of it was a plain vanilla cupcake just as I like. "Amy made it for you.", Damien stated softly.

she mumbled over a mouthful, "these are delicious. Did you make them?" Jackie laughed. "No, they're from the restaurant. We source them from a home baker in town." "They are so good." Amy patted the space beside her. "Sit back and relax. Wanna see some clips from my movie? The editors are working in LA and they send me stuff to approve." "Okay." Jackie scooted beside Amy, stacking a few extra pillows behind her back. They watched a scene in which Amy, dressed in period costume, portrayed a pioneer woman attending the funeral of her husband. By the end of the clip, Jackie found herself nearly moved to tears. Amy clicked the keyboard and looked at Jackie expectantly.

She came to Cole and carried him out, feeding him. It was then that Amy's alarm rang, and she groaned as she turned it off. Mary watched as she dragged herself to the bathroom, and she came out looking more like a human being. "What’s for breakfast?" She murmured, her voice still laden with sleep. "I made pancakes; they are on the kitchen counter, but you would have to fry the eggs and bacon. I didn’t want to fry them now and risk it getting cold." Amy groaned, feeling particularly lazy today. "That is fine; I will just eat the pancake and get anything else in the fridge. I don’t think I can do anything right now. Monday is already stressful enough, and I am not going to stress myself furthe

I hope you didn't take me away from my baking just to convert me to the True Path or something? Amy shook her head, licked her lips, and drew a deep breath. 'I . . . My name's Amy Hammond.' 'Oh.' The voice was now icy, not an echo of the velvety tones remaining. 'I wonder you've the nerve to show your face here.' The woman's eyes, dark as a gipsy's, took in Amy's companion. 'It hasn't taken you long to find yourself a new boyfriend. Or were you two-timing my husband all along?'

What the hell was going on? It took us an hour to put Amy’s concoction together, rummaging through the pantry, grounding a dozen different herbs and spices, to then cook them in a pan with olive oil. “The frog comes next?” I asked. “No. The bat’s head.” “Of course. The bat’s head.” Amy took an old wooden bowl from the cupboard and handed it to me. “Pour the mix here and come upstairs. I need to get the holy water from my room.” “Holy water? She ain’t no demon.”

Amy carefully arranged the food onto two plates, a genuine spark of pride lighting up her eyes. “Okay… this actually looks good,” she admitted. She carried both plates over to the small dining table, sliding one in front of him before sitting down opposite him. For a moment, neither of them spoke. Amy picked up her fork first, practically glowing with anticipation. “This is my first time cooking something that isn’t…” She paused, rethinking her words. “…burned.” Drake watched her closely. “Then taste it.” She took a bite. Her eyes widened slightly, and she quickly took another.

For now, I would bottle it up and try to change the subject. “The girls and I worked on some snacks,” I said, remembering the cake that was in the back of the car. Even now, I could see one of Jake’s servant bring it in. I waved at them, catching their attention and calling them over. “I hope you like chocolate cake.” “We made it ourselves!” Amy said, proudly. “We sure did!” Stacy agreed. “Well,” Amy started to relent. “Mommy helped.” “Oh, then I’m sure it’s wonderful,” Mom said.

Amy's voice pulled Jasira out of her never-ending thoughts. "That's if it could talk only." She winked and stuck out her tongue which made Amy shake her head with a laugh on her face. Jasira shrugged off her contagious laugh before she focused on the over-flatted dough. They were competing on who could make the best chocolate cookies, Amy suggested for some reasons she doesn't know. She was not even in the mood to think about it. She glanced at the over-flattened dough, she really flattened it more than normal, she thought adding extra dough to it.

“Sleep okay?” “Better than okay,” I said, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. “Where’d you go?” “I was just in the kitchen. I want to do something nice for Amy when she gets back.” I blinked the rest of the sleep from my eyes. “What kind of nice?” “I thought I’d bake her a cake. Something soft and sweet, you know? Just to make her feel really at home again.” I smiled. “That’s a great idea. I’ll help.” Her face lit up. “Are you sure?”
