Married Again
When the door opened, she found him seated near the balcony, back turned, sleeves rolled up, drink in hand.
He didn’t startle.
Didn’t speak.
As if he knew she would come.
“I wasn’t sure you’d use the key,” he said without turning.
“I almost didn’t,” she said. “I came for answers, not apologies.”
He stood slowly, turned.
And when their eyes met, it wasn’t desire that stirred first—it was respect.
She walked in and closed the door behind her.
“Why Rome?” she asked.
He stepped toward her, slow and deliberate. “Because this is where my first marriage ended… and where I wanted to ask for another chance.”
