Yumi's POV - “What book is that?” Henry asks, staring at the back of the book Zainab is reading across from him on the island. “Oh, this?” Zainab grins, turning the book around, “It’s a romance novel, ‘Paper Hearts’”. Zana rolls her eyes with a lazy groan, “That’s the twelfth time she’s reading it”. Henry chuckles humorously, “Stench fanatic”. I look between the three, busy filling my mouth with buttered popcorn. Henry would occasionally give me smoldering glances that often shake my body whole and the way his eyes would drag along the stretch of my lips…I couldn’t help the unstable heartbeat.

Hailey was having a bad feeling about the whole thing and started regretting the idea of coming to meet him. Did he know she was gonna come? "Really now? You should know I'm the least person you can fool.." Xavier said in his casual tune and took off his cufflinks and folded his sleeves up... Xavier isn't a violent person but If his guess was right then Hailey is a trained assassin and an informant.. she is highly dangerous and would try to make a move on him... "I really don't understand any of this.. I simply came here to talk to you not listen to any of this, you know what? I think I should leave.." she didn't know what she was actually saying and only wanted to get away from him as fast

But when he didn’t, I hesitated. This feels way too illegal. But the pay .... Besides, I could do this one thing, get my money, and be gone… right? I mean how bad can what I'm hacking be? I made a choice. "Yes. Yes, I can," I said finally. "Wonderful," Xavier said, amusement dancing in his eyes. He moved to the door and opened it with graceful precision. "After you, Raven." I walked ahead, silently praying not to trip. Don’t be clumsy, Emily. Get a grip.

“Read the passage. Aloud. Page forty-three.” She took the glass, sipped the burn, then opened the book. Her voice started steady but grew husky as she read the explicit scene, some words about trembling thighs, slick heat, a man taking what he wanted. Hale watched her mouth the whole time, leaning back against the desk, arms crossed. When she finished, the air felt thick. “Again,” he said. “Slower.” Mia read it slower. Her nipples tightened against her bra. Halfway through the second paragraph, Hale stepped around the desk, took the book from her hands, and set it down.

I gulped my saliva down, my eyes still glued to him. "It's not a dramatic dialogue. Our worlds are actually different because I, Fiama Henry Case isn't a human being"
