“Good evening, madam. Welcome to the Equinox Hilton. How many I help you today?” Flora smiled back at her, though she was so, so tired. All she wanted right now was a warm bath and a soft bed. “I’d like to book a room for tonight please.” The receptionist’s face and smile turned apologetic at once. “Oh my. I’m sorry madam. The hotel is fully booked due to a conference being hosted here tomorrow. All the rooms are reserved as of now.” Flora’s heart sank. Misfortune just seemed to be following her wherever she went. “There’s nothing you can do for me?”

He pulled out his card and placed it on the counter. “My apologies. We are fully booked. This is a place for dignitaries. And according to our protocols, rooms are booked a week before.” She replied, pushing the card back to Evans.

“Yes, ma’am. I’m deeply sorry.” Heat flooded my face. Of course. Of course it was. “Can I get another room then?” My voice pitched too high. “I’ll take whatever’s available. Anything.” The receptionist looked close to tears. “That’s the problem. We’re completely booked for the week. There’s a huge corporate event. Every single room is occupied.” “Every room?” My chest constricted. “I’ve checked everywhere. We have absolutely nothing until next Friday.” “What about other hotels?” My voice started shaking.

"I'm afraid that's not correct, sir. It says here that one room was booked for a Mr and Mrs Rogers. A luxury suite infact" Ah leave it to Martin to mess things up, I clearly instructed him to book two separate rooms. "Is there any empty room, I could book?" Eleanor's voice came from behind. "No, am afraid we are at full capacity" With a sigh, I said, "We'll take the room"

“I’m sorry, sir, but we don’t disclose the personal details of our guests.” Lucas cursed softly and turned away, grabbing his hair in one hand. He should have known this would happen. But he wasn’t going to let his trip down here go to waste. “Are there any available cabins? I’d like to book one.” If she wasn’t going to tell him whether Amanda was at the resort, he would get in and look for her himself. The receptionist adopted an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, sir. All cabins are fully booked at the moment.”

The receptionist, a middle-aged woman with an amused smile, looked up with a smile never real at her front desk. “You two must’ve been caught in the storm,” she said with a small smile. Nathan didn’t waste time. “We need a room for the night.” The woman hesitated, her eyes flicking between us. “You didn’t pre-book?” Nathan’s jaw ticked. “No.” She gave a knowing smile. “This is peak tourist season, sir. We’re completely booked.” I let out a tired sigh. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” She hummed, checking something on her computer. “There is one room left, though.”

I blinked. “I'm sorry, Mr. Booker but we're fully booked.” She told me with a polite smile. My face fell. “What?” Nessa was not having that. “That can't be right. You mean to tell me that every single room in this goddamn place has been booked?!” “I'm afraid so,” Clara chuckled nervously. “We've never had rush hours like these early in the morning before.” “Fuck.” Nessa hissed. “It's alright, N. “Good day. I'm looking for a room” She glanced up and smiled politely. “I am sorry ma’am. We are fully booked. Every room was taken days ago. We have an ongoing summit.” she replied and I felt my heart sink drastically in my chest. “Right. Yes. I figured. Is there any chance that I could get a room. Any cancellation. Anything at all? ”
