I said to the beautiful blonde in red attire, and she looked at me with her beautiful round eyes. "How may I help you ma'am?" She asked, flashing a warm smile which I returned. "Uhm.. can I book another room because the one my boss booked happens to be a single suite and…" "Ohh.. I'm sorry about that, we work according to orders and we don't make mistakes too. Also we are fully booked until next week," she said, and my jaw dropped in shock…..

Slowly, I looked back up at her, forcing some calmness into my tone. “Alright, fine. I’m already here. Can I book another room instead?” Her lips pressed into a thin line, and I could tell from her furrowed brows that another excuse was coming. “It’s peak season, ma’am. We’re fully booked.” I scoffed, scratching at my scalp through my wig in sheer frustration. “Peak season? In Ikorodu? Since when does this place have peak seasons?” My voice rose despite my effort to stay composed. “So, you’re telling me there’s not a single room available anywhere in this whole town?” The receptionist winced, her expression almost apologetic.

"Get out," Yvette commanded. She didn't care how Xavier had come in. "The front desk said all the rooms here are booked. If I leave, I have nowhere to stay," Xavier said, looking somewhat pitiful. "It's not even peak season; how could it be fully booked?" Yvette retorted as she picked up her phone to call the front desk. To her surprise, it was indeed fully booked. She was a bit confused. At some point, Xavier was already standing in front of her. "It's probably fully booked because the New Year is coming."

I blinked. “I'm sorry, Mr. Booker but we're fully booked.” She told me with a polite smile. My face fell. “What?” Nessa was not having that. “That can't be right. You mean to tell me that every single room in this goddamn place has been booked?!” “I'm afraid so,” Clara chuckled nervously. “We've never had rush hours like these early in the morning before.” “Fuck.” Nessa hissed. “It's alright, N. We can always eat somewhere else.” I gave her shoulder a light squeeze but Nessa stomped her feet on the floor like a little kid.

I walked up to her with a weak attempt at a smile. “Hi, good morning.” She looked up. “Good morning! Can I help you?” “Um, yes. I was wondering if, uh, you’d had any cancellations. For rooms, I mean.” Her face fell slightly. “Oh, unfortunately, no. We’ve been checking, but everything’s still booked out. The conference filled us up almost two weeks ago.” Right. Of course. I tried to keep my face neutral, polite. “Is there a waitlist? Maybe someone who hasn’t checked in yet?”

As the receptionist checked him in, she looked between us, clearly thinking. Then she spoke cautiously. “Sir… this may sound unusual, but the suite you booked has two completely separate bedrooms. Your second guest hasn’t checked in, and we are fully booked tonight because of the medical conference in the city.” The man frowned. “So?” She lowered her voice. “ We are fully booked for tonight, and we can’t leave this young stranded.” His cold gaze shifted toward me. I immediately shook my head. “No.” “I appreciate the thought, but absolutely not.” “You could have told me you are fully booked”.

I was about to get the tickets that were pouring out nonstop from the machine when someone tapped me by the shoulder. I turned around and saw the girl with her babe from before, an angry look plastered on her colorful face. "Wanna have a match?"

ELENA’S POV The hotel clerk looked genuinely sorry as he delivered the news. “I’m so sorry, Miss Voss. Due to the regional tournament overflow, we’re completely overbooked. We only have one room left and it only has one king bed.” I stared at him. “You’re joking.” He wasn’t. Noah stood beside me, silent and tense, his gym bag slung over one shoulder. I could feel the heat radiating off him even though we weren’t touching. After the long bus ride and the disaster of a game, neither of us had the energy for this.

he hissed at the concierge. I wheeled forward, my jaw tight. "Is there a problem?" The concierge bowed deeply, his face a mask of polite regret. "Our apologies, Mr. King. It seems there was a glitch in the King Corp travel portal. The two executive suites you booked were released four hours ago. Due to the tech summit in the city, we are completely booked." "This is impossible," I said, the pulse in my neck throbbing. "Check again." "We have managed to retain one room, sir," the man said, looking pained. "A standard king room. It was held under a secondary corporate card. But as for your security team..."

" I rolled my eyes in response, I was not free. I had all these flowers to tie, but since he did help me, I excused myself around him — as he decided to sit in the chair like he owned the place — and went to the counter to open a page. "Okay we have the 13th, 26th and 29th available," "It's the 30th," he said pointing to the calendar, and I laughed and shook my head. "No until next January." "But, that's eight months away." I nodded in agreement. "Well, of course. We're booked out all days until then, and we don't do more than three events in a month — no matter when they are."
