What the hell! Wasn’t it a little too much and pompous? Charlie didn’t bother to continue the argument. He applied some forces into his hand again and said with a blank face, “You’ll live if you kneel and you’ll die if you don’t. I saw the dirt on the floor clinging to the bottom of it but took bites of it regardless. If my master desired that I eat off the floor, I would without disagreement.

Immediately I said those words, they all bowed lightly and began to divide themselves, stationing themselves to different chores. I only watched them, unable to speak. They acted as though they only lived to serve me and please me. This is the first time I am seeing anything like this in my life. Is this how they act here? Do they treat their masters as God? I was still in awe when one of them walked to my bed cowering with a bow. "Can I be given the honor of preparing your bath?" This is weird! Extremely weird but I went with the flow. Maybe I will adjust to it sooner or later, and maybe I find it weird because I have only lived like an outcast all my life.

James gulped and said quickly, “Please. It’s the master’s order. If we don’t obey, our bodies will become meals for the master’s children.” Iris frowned. “Children?”

They knelt immediately with their head touching the ground. "Master, punish us," they said concurrently. Those people knew whether they said it or not, punishment knew no mercy. So did the devil.
