Meadow and I stand beside each other and begin chanting the spell. We dip our hand into our pot of potion and watch as the potion absorbs into the spell and disappears. “Whoa, that’s really cool. But what does it do?” Reagan asks. “It sends up an alarm when someone with an evil intent to the pack comes through. It won’t harm them and it won’t stop them, but it will give us warning,” Meadow tells her.

He turned back to the task. “What is he doing?” Fatima wondered as they followed Tony back into the house. “Connery is a very talented alchemist,” Meguitte replied absently as they approached a bedroom door and Tony opened it into a darkened space. “And we have worked together a great many times over the centuries. He will prepare the ingredients for a healing spell, with a twist using alchemy, and I will return to infuse it with my magic. We will create a poultice for Harry’s eye… Oh, Harry,” she finished as she saw them laid out over the bed.

The magic had already begun, whether we liked it or not. I looked to Aurora. She gave a slow nod. “Do it,” I said. The witch began her spell, chanting softly. A soft blue light glowed around Hilary’s chest, growing stronger with each word. The wind picked up, swirling around us as if the forest itself was holding its breath. Then—her eyes fluttered open. Hilary gasped sharply, body jerking as if pulled from deep water. “Hilary!” Loid cried, grabbing her hand.

Inside, the scene showed Alayna asking greedily, "If I use this, the pup inside Sienna's belly will be transferred to mine?"
