Dante snapped but the second he saw the Alpha King, he paused, bowing his head down in reverence before him. Both of them were staring at me but in different ways. Dante was staring at me with rage and anger, a malicious intent as if he wanted me dead on the spot. Whereas the Alpha King looked at me with curiosity. As if I was something porcelain he was seeing for the first time. “Do you know this man?” he asked me, ignoring Dante’s greetings. I hadn’t answered when Dante responded on my behalf… like he always did whenever I was asked something by another man. “This is my mate, Alpha. She is Alba, the Luna of Moonstone pack,” he said firmly.

And then the old Alpha from the Blue Moon pack comes in with his younger son, as his oldest has a mate and is not the Alpha. I stand and go to greet them as they are our closest allies and friends, and walk over there. “Alpha Adam, Alex. It has been a while.” I saw and bowed my head. “Alpha Liam, good to see you. How are you?” “I am good, thank you,” I answer, but then we get interrupted by Alex blurting out MATE. We stop talking and watch as Alex starts walking towards Alpha Mike and his sister. The girl is lost looking at him, and I can see her say the word, mate. Alex offers her his hand, and she takes it, blushing hard, as they leave to get to know each other.

Calix’s voice is calm. Steady. The Alpha’s men shift behind him, stepping forward slightly. Tension fills the room instantly. But the Alpha lifts his hand. They stop. “You want to start a war?” he asks quietly. Calix nods once. “That’s why you should leave.” The Alpha steps closer. Too close. His face is inches from Calix’s now. “She’s mine,” he growls. And then— “She’s my mate,” Calix says. Everything stops. My breath catches.

My lips lifted up in a maniacal smile as I took a seat in front of me, picking up the knife that was on the table beside me. I twirled the knife around my fingers, staring at his shaking. "Let's do something fun today," I said with a smirk. "Instead of cutting all your fingers off, why don't we cut something else?. What else can we cut?" Looking at the not too familiar features up close knocked fucking breath out of my lungs. His beautifully sculpted chiseled jawline, lashes that could compete with mine and his dark hair that fell to his eyes, making my fingers itch to touch them. I could study his entire build for days and never get tired but the cocky smirk that curled up his lips and the mate scent that hit my nose threw me right back to reality. ‘Mate!’ my no-name wolf growled again, more possessively and a sob threatened to escape my lips. Alpha Alexander was my mate? No! This was probably some sick joke the moon goddess was playing with me because just how cruel will that ‘bitch’ be?

They are scary. They were massive, their broad shoulders and muscular frames filing the space around the bed. Each of them had the same dark hair and piercing gray eyes, a stark contrast in the dim light of the room. “Who… who are you?” I stammered, my voice shaky and barely audible. The one closest to me offered a small, reassuring smile. “We’re the Alpha Kings.” He said, his voice gentle but firm. “And we’re your mates.” I stared at him, the words not quite registering at first. Then a bitter laugh escaped my lips. Is that what they call women before they sleep with them nowadays? Because last I checked my mate has rejected me and forced me to become his plaything.

“Hey I’m just trying to help you out. Wouldn’t want any more damage to come to that handsome face of yours. Speaking of, how’s your eye doing?” He redoubled his effort after that comment and slammed into the bars with all his might. This time the bar gives way a little, and you can see the victory in his eyes. All my humor was immediately gone; those bars were what was keeping me safe. I know I’m a damn good fighter, but I’m not sure how well I’ll fare against an irate alpha prince. I gulp and look over at the king. He must see how close his son is to getting in and orders, “Shift back! Now!”

I replied, "I didn't give him a chance to say anything further and came to you." Alpha King replied, "You did good but what was your last line?" I replied with annoyance, "Can he mind his language?" Alpha King asked, "Before that." I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and said, "I am your mate." When I opened my eyes, the Alpha king was grinning maniacally. Now, what is this reaction? Alpha King replied, "Now you accept that you are my mate." I looked into his eyes and asked, "When did I say you were not?"

“You have got to calm down. Trust me, he’s not someone we can mess with. I’m planning my revenge on him as well.” “He’s not someone I can mess with,” he smirks. “Oh, really? Tell me, Jane, who the fucking hell is your mate?” “He’s the Alpha King, King Richard!” I scream. “Do you get it now?” “What the hell?” Vishal’s eyes widen. “That notorious Alpha is your mate?” “Yes, he’s the one,” I respond. “He’s the mate the moon deity pairs me with. You know now that he’s not someone we can mess with. We don’t want to ignite the beast in him. Just let him be, Vishal.”

Ajax said. "Alpha King!" Almost all of us couldn't help but exclaim, thinking how could he even plan of a thing when he himself basically just had a Luna, his mate, announced for everyone to know. He didn't say anything though, his eyes glaring at all of us, his pheromones slowly leaking out that made us unable to move nor speak.
