Chapter Twenty Five Maya’s POV Alpha Aaron's fingers snap sharply against my face, a jarring wake-up call that pierces through the haze of confusion. "Stop being delusional," he commands, his voice carrying an authoritative edge. "Tell me why you set the room on fire." My eyes blink rapidly, the remnants of a fading dream mixing with the stark reality before me. As consciousness fully embraces me, the events leading up to this moment flood back—a room ablaze, my desperate attempt at attention, and now, the enigmatic figure known as Alpha Aaron demanding answers.

On the way, I knocked the gamma to the ground, twisting his neck with the movement. As I jumped to catch Astrid, she fell off the cliff, and an arrow flew past me. Pounding met my ears, and I glanced backward. Hundreds of intruders ran toward the pack borders, and the gamma was scurrying toward the group with a limp. “Alpha!” Beta Alexander mind linked me with urgency. “The school is on fire, and the pups are locked inside.” I stood frozen in time for a second, looking at the river flowing below, at my mate washing away. My mate. My kids.

Perhaps, she somehow knew my destiny before I ever began the journey down this path. Once we are at the car, the driver opens the door with a fake smile on his face and then we both get in. Turning to Alexander, I look up into his eyes before asking curiously, “What will you do when you find the other Alpha?” Pausing, he doesn’t say anything at first, but after a minute or two he finally replies angrily in a voice filled with hatred while looking out the window to avoid my stare, “I will kill him with my bare hands. He deserves no mercy for what he did. First, he trespassed into my territory and then he killed some of my best people. This is unforgivable.”

“Freya.” “Which pack?” I hesitated for a second before answering. “NorthRidge.” Murmurs spread quietly across the room. The Alpha leaned back slightly in his chair. “What is a NorthRidge wolf doing alone in the middle of nowhere?” His tone was not soft, but it was not cruel either. I swallowed slowly. “I left.” One warrior frowned immediately. “You left your pack?” Another looked suspicious. “That never ends well.” The Alpha lifted his hand slightly, silencing them.

Talon’s POV: I’ve always liked to play with fire, and I don’t mean that metaphorically. The pain of the flames was no match to the pain of the ache I felt deep within me. And looking at this boy, that was somehow fire personified, I couldn’t help but feel a connection to him that I am unable to describe. “Alpha,” my Beta, Kai, started as he walked into the room that I had asked our new guest to be placed in while I watched over him. I was eager to see what other tricks he had up his sleeve. Eager to feel the burn of his flames again.

Calian POV “Fuck! What are you all doing? Why can’t you put out this fire?” I had arrived at the scene to find pack members trying to put the flames out, trying and failing. “The fire is too aggressive Alpha, anyone that enters will not come out alive. We couldn’t get to her.” My beta reports instantly at my side. “Get to who?” I could feel my chest tightening as a sense of foreboding spreads throughout me. It hadn’t occurred to me that someone would still be in the house.

She would throw herself in there without even caring about whether she would survive or not. "Oh, fuck it, Anna! I'll be right back!" at least he knew he would survive the flames. He dashed towards the fire and headed first for the door, using his body as a shield before he disappeared into it. Anna was consumed by fear where she stood but she tried to calm herself down. She was confident in Weston's ability not to just die in a place like this. They had faced worse over the years and they still made it out-

The fire was getting closer to them, too, and if it wasn't curbed soon, it could burn all the way and reach the town. Back at the ring, the Firewolf was still roaring with rage. Her opponents had disappeared and she was daring them to come back out and fight. Alpha Knight smirked from behind her. He was standing in the blazing fire, just a few feet from the burning chords. He was taller, huger and had very massive fangs.
