I hear Alice whisper something, but I can’t quite pick up on her words. “She’ll be fine, Alice; go back to Connor now and knock off for the night.” Alpha Hunter is speaking to her so softly, I can almost trick myself into thinking he’s a nice person; that's how Alphas work, though. They draw you in with a false sense of security and then they turn into a monster; it's what happened with Alpha Jacob and it's what will eventually happen with Alpha Hunter. Sure, he’s caring for me now but I give it only a matter of time before he’s slamming me into a wall so he can get past me or he’s making me stand in the corner of the room while everyone eats and I wait for the scraps.

That she would for once, be the good girl she was and patiently wait for whatever this was to be over. I take a deep breath, struggling to calm all my senses. I had tried my best concealing any scent of fear from flying off me and good thing the scent of a Beta was not as strong as the other. The one thing I appreciated in being a Beta. Although, it looked like he already got a whiff of it considering the chilling chuckles leaving his throat. Damn those Alphas and their senses. Alright, I am certain I can pull through this. I have already experienced worse than this before. It was not a big of a deal.

“Ah, perfect timing. Class, I’d like to introduce our student lead for the semester’s special project. He’s a senior with exceptional insight into… well, the wilder side of environmental interactions.” My pen froze. He stepped in. Ronan freaking Vale.

My eyes lowered and they fell on Kevin's hand. His fingers were gripping the edge of the bench so tightly that his knuckles turned white. I lifted my gaze to look at his face. His eyes were on Aria. His jaw was clenched. It was as if he would pull the two people apart anytime soon. The lights turned on and the professor's voice came to be heard loudly. "Every Alpha is a hero in their story. But they bear the obstacles too." He said as he wanted to explain how one Alpha could demolish another Alpha in wars.

"Who's spreading these stories?" "Everyone knows. It's common knowledge in the rogue territories. A cursed woman bore a cursed child. Any pack that protects you will fall." "Common knowledge." The father speaks from behind them, voice thoughtful in a way that makes Amelia's skin prickle. "Interesting. Because that's not how rumors work. Common knowledge requires a source. Someone spreading the story. Making it believable." The rogue's eyes flicker, just for a second, and Amelia knows the father is right. "Who's your alpha?" she asks quietly. "Because you're organized. Coordinated. Someone's leading you. Feeding you information. Telling you where to strike."

She needed the identity of those Alphas. "You are right. The documents should be in father's study. Let's check them out." As soon as they got to the study, Godiva broke down in tears. She could feel her father's presence heavily because he spent a lot of time there. It wasn't long for Theresa to locate the documents. From the way they were kept in the drawer beside his desk, there was great importance attached to it from everything else. Godiva's last bit of hope began to dwindle when Theresa read the names; "Alpha Alonso, Alpha Storm, Alpha Bond, Alpha Brick, Alpha Caesar, Alpha Jax and Alpha Ice. They are just as fierce as their name sounds."

My father, the former Alpha to the pack that was now no more than ash, had drilled that into me at a young age. Having scoured the shelves, I finally found the book I was looking for. A thick volume titled "The History of the Spring Lake Pack." It contained detailed accounts of the pack's formation, important events, past Alphas, and much more. I settled into a corner with the book, losing myself in the rich history of Arabella’s pack. As I read, I was filled with a sense of awe and respect. Alpha Alec Romero, the Alpha of Dark Moon Pack located at the east part of Vinizia City. He was the only one among the four Alphas in the city who still don't have a wife—a Luna. They even tease him sometimes when the three other Alpha's of the South, East and West when they're together to have a party because he is the only Alpha who has not been with a woman who will be the Luna of his territory and who will be his mate for life. Actually, Alec was not in a hurry about that, he was confident that the Moon Goddess reserved him a woman he wants to be part of his life until he died.

They will fight for justice because they have been wrongly accused of crimes and they will bring into this world the balancer of light and dark, an alpha with abilities of both their parents, of shadow and of fire,” She says as she wraps up the story. “And this Alpha is rumored to be in my pack?” I ask with a blend of confusion and a sinking feeling I can not fathom at the moment, because I can’t even imagine how or why I might feel it.
