Gabriel climbed the stairs, his shoulders stiff and sore with tension. He'd been working for weeks, digging through all his contacts, trying to find anything he could on Honorera, her family, her past, and the price on her head. But he'd made almost no progress. He traced Tanner and Kayla Lee back to a small pack in Ohio. Kayla Lee had been an almost invisible member of the pack, an obedient omega. When her brother was exiled, she went with him. Possibly she was forced by her brother to accompany him into no man's land. But somewhere along the way, they had parted.

Some though has innate special gifts such as clairvoyance, sharp senses, and other supernatural abilities one may have. "Alpha of what pack?" I asked Mistress Hera with the same stoic expression. "Raven pack from the west." I nodded. I could not ask as to why he is needed to be killed. That information is confidential and not to be disclosed even to the assassin who will do the mission. Only the Mistress knows all the reasons behind every mission and who our patrons are. Besides, I do not think it is necessary for me to know those informations. My job is to execute the plan and nothing more.

Ashley stood there with her head bowed. She was still there trying to form something up when a hand yanked her towards the elevator. Immediately they entered the elevator, Frederick shoved her and she slam her back on the wall of the elevator. He then came forward towards her and grabbed her by the neck.. raising her body to his eye level. " You think I didn't know that an assassin was sent to kill me? I know the scent of everyone that is working for me in this company but yours is different, who are you!?"

I tapped his shoulder. He hesitated. “I just want to go play with something.” I said. He set me down and I limped over to the wall of knives and picked up a multicolored butterfly knife. I flipped it around, opening and closing it between my hands. “I need a new one of these. My old one is loose.” I flipped it closed and looked at Malachi, he was just staring at me in amazement. “What?” “I just forgot that you are a trained assassin. That’s all.”

I thought I could handle this on my own, thought I could bring Zephyr back without assistance because I’m her mate, but it's not enough. “Did you see the person? Did you see the assassin?” Avani snarls. I look at him, knowing this will hurt him nearly as much as it hurts me. “It’s Zephyr, Avani. She’s the assassin.” He falls back on his butt. “What? Are you sure?” he asks. I raise an eyebrow at him. “Why would she do this? Why would she kill these shifters?” Cedric asks. “They got to her,” Avani says as realization dawns on him and he looks at me. He and I have worked together long enough. We understand each other without words.

Had it not been for the Alpha, the Ancient Assassin who trained us would have killed my mate, and she would have done it mercilessly. “We both know that there is no such thing as bedrest, baby girl, not when we are this close to reaching our target” he whispered, his face inches from my own, his hot breath hitting my face with every word he said. My heart raced against my chest as I listened to his words, knowing that they were ones of truth. Ezio had to be beside the Alpha now, and he had to show that he would support him now more than ever. If the man had lost his sister and was broken about it; we would be taking advantage of it before he called for the funeral.

Damin – POV A knock on the door jolted me awake from my stupor. “Come in.” “We have two bad news,” Dexter said as he walked in. I frowned. “What now?” I didn’t want to sound annoyed but couldn’t help it. It’s been three months, and I haven't been able to sleep or eat, all because of Stella. “Alpha Altair is dead,” Dexter said with a frown. “An assassin from the Night Angel killed him.”

Black sedans. Armed teams. “Looks like we’re very popular tonight,” Lena said. Alina felt the pressure closing in from every direction. “So we’ve got assassins coming from the ground…” She pointed toward the skyline. “…and a sniper who never misses watching from above.” Arun’s voice remained calm. “Correct.” She folded her arms. “Just checking.” He turned the tablet toward her. “Look closer.” Alina studied the screen. Something didn’t add up. The sniper marker was not moving.

I growled as I kicked her hand away and walked to the cages. With one hit, the padlock of the first cage broke open and I unchained the man who was hung upside down. He had a familiar scent. He was one of the wolves who had ambushed me about a month ago. He was a respected gamma in Dexter’s pack and I knew that the only way Camila could have drawn him here was by sexual appeal. Immediately the chain broke loose, he fell to the ground and didn’t rise up and that was when I realized that he was dead.
