She has Dissociative Amnesia.” “This… this type of amnesia,” the doctor stammered, “comes from trauma, abuse, a violent crime, a disaster. The mind blocks out pieces of memory as a defense, to protect itself. That is why she doesn’t remember some parts of her life.”
