"Alpha Callahan's memory returned weeks ago," Dave continued, his voice steady, measured, aimed directly at the assembled council rather than at either of us. "Not the fragments he's led this household to believe. Full, complete memory, concealed deliberately, for reasons only he can explain."
The chamber erupted into noise, voices overlapping, shock and disbelief and something sharper underneath it all, the sound of a room recalculating everything it thought it understood.
"That's a serious accusation," the elder said, raising a hand for quiet. "Do you have proof to support it, Beta Bane?"
