PROLOGUE "What?! I'm getting married to Liam?!" I couldn't believe it when I received a text message from the current president of Anderson Company, Mr. Enrico Anderson, Liam's grandfather. I just met Mr. Anderson by accident when I bumped into him at the supermarket. I know who he is because I often see him in business magazines. I was looking for the dairy products section and didn't notice him, so I apologized profusely for my clumsiness. I thought he'd get angry, but instead, he just smiled at me. I was even more surprised when he asked for my number. And since I was in a hurry too, I just gave it to him.

“Just… different.” Moments passed. Then— “Wait.” “What?” “I felt that. In my calf. Like… like something sparked.” She stilled. Their eyes met. “You did?” she asked, breathless. “I think so.” He stared at his leg like it had betrayed him. Then, just as quickly, he scoffed. “Probably a muscle twitch. Nothing.” “Or maybe something,” she said quietly. He looked away. “Don’t get your hopes up.” “I won’t. I’ll just write it down. Date. Pressure. Response.”

“I’m not sure, sir, but it looks like… a party.” “Party for what? My surprise funeral?!” Then I saw the giant golden banner stretched across the front of the mansion, flapping in the breeze like a flag of doom: WELCOME TO JAY & DAHLIA’S ENGAGEMENT PARTY I gaped. “What the actual fuck, man. I’m getting engaged?!” Elijah looked like he wanted to disappear into his seat. I was tempted to join him. This was it. The nightmare had come full circle. Pregnant by a stranger, forced into an arranged marriage, and now being paraded like a prize stallion before the whole social elite while my stomach was quietly trying to become a daycare.

He didn’t know if he was angry, scared, or stunned. His father raised a brow. “Say something.” Ken cleared his throat. “I’m… I’m in a relationship. In fact, I’m engaged.” His father gave him a look that pierced straight through him half amused, half disbelieving. “You?” he scoffed. “Engaged? To which one of your numerous flings?” Ken swallowed. “I’m not lying. I’ve changed. I don’t have multiple girlfriends anymore. Lisa and I are engaged.” Everything stopped.

"The facility has been compromised. All unauthorized personnel are to be detained." Alexander knew they wouldn't believe him. He glanced down at Leo at Eleanor then back, at the menacing figures. They were trapped. They had climbed out of one hell only to find themselves face-to-face with another dangerous unknown. The path was indeed undetermined. It was leading them deeper into a conspiracy far larger than they could have ever imagined.

Tamaz asked, "What will you do now? "I don't know why I have a feeling that she'll be mine, but I do. To be honest, I'm not expecting her engagement to happen properly." "What exactly do you mean by that?" Tamaz asked suspiciously. "I found out that she never once met another guy in these past days apart from her colleagues, friends, and family. Logically speaking, If she's to be engaged, then definitely she should have met him somewhere, and a month ago, she was single. So there's no way that this engagement is going to happen properly. I can feel it. But I don't know what exactly it is, we need to wait and find out."
