Angela takes all the books from her in her arms. "You can go now!" Angela gave a small smile. Lara nodded and went back to her duty. Angela looked at the books and put them on the table. She asked for books only to make them distract, and make them feel like she no longer wanted to run or think about it. And now started to adjust to her life.

Having my men search and comb almost the ends of the earth for Jefferson hasn’t been easy, and being on Beshar’s neck for a meeting with at least one of the princes as well has been crazy. A knock sounds on my office door, and Angel pushes it open. Seeing him still limping, I immediately frown. "What are you doing out here, again?" I ask him. He limps closer and drops a thick brown envelope onto my desk. “You need to see this, Alpha,” he tells me. I look at the envelope, then at him, "What’s in it?" Angel pushes his frame into one of the empty seats. “Alpha,” he calls. “It seems Jessica White has been playing all of us. And, I have proof."

There was a guard before her father's study, and the guard began to say something to her, but she ignored him and walked inside to her father sitting on his desk, scratching with his pen, leaving inked words on a document. "You mustn't go," Anna said and felt the hand of the guard behind her. Her father looked up at her, and curtly nodded, the guard released his hold of her and withdrew out of the room. Others announced something loudly, but Angela struggled to catch what they said. "Did I… did I actually win?" Angela whispered to herself before stumbling and collapsing. Upon hearing her words, Joel was visibly upset. There was a hint of humiliation in his eyes. "Mr. Crawford, I'm Angela Graham, CEO of Graham Group. I'd like to make peace on behalf of the company." Angela turned over on the ground and tried to reach out her hand. Joel was shocked. "You came here just to..." "To meet you and make peace." Angela smiled awkwardly, her bloodied face contorted in pain. Her smile was more unsettling than her cries.

Angela smiled at me, her eyes warm. “Yes, my little bird. My ancestors wrote books on how to do it with no medical equipment.” She delicately traced her fingers over the wrist of the woman lying on the table. Angela used to help many pack members who couldn’t afford hospital bills. It was a noble act, but we had to keep it discreet, so she built a basement that only I knew about. “The granny witches?” I inquired in my squeaky voice.

She knew she had struck a nerve, pried open a wound Nora had spent years trying to heal. "Well, Nora," Angelina purred, her voice dripping with feigned sympathy, "we have someone here who seems eager to share that spotlight with you." Confusion, a thick fog, clouded Nora's mind. "Let's welcome Greg White," Angelina declared, her voice ringing with malicious glee. The applause, a deafening wave, washed over Nora, but she felt nothing, only a chilling emptiness spreading through her.

Angela didn't pay him or his words any attention as she flipped through the drawing book until she stumbled upon it. At first she wasn't so sure what her eyes were seeing, so she looked closely again and when she did she was stunned. She flipped another page and another page and another page and it went on and on and on. She was devastated. She was heart broken. "How could you, Charles?"Angela said in a low tone, like she was running out of breath. "How could you do this to me?", she asked him. She let the drawing book drop from her hands to the ground, as Nicole quickly picked it up to see what they contained.

‘Rest your heart now, honey. You have awakened yourself now.’ Angela’s eyes flew open to the white ceiling above. The same dream. The same woman in white gown. She had been seeing her since Axel’s birth, in her dreams and sometimes relentless nightmares of her past, reminding her about something, to calm her, to soothe her, to make her ready. But what she was trying to say? Angela couldn’t decipher.

Betty gloated with mock sympathy, her eyes alight with victory. I slowly lifted my head, the last traces of warmth draining from my gaze.
