The Day I Left, My Brothers Fell Apart

The Day I Left, My Brothers Fell Apart

For the post, she had written, "From now on, this will be the vacation home for our famiglia of four. My brothers love me so much. I'm truly the happiest woman in the world." My fingers trembled. My breathing became shallow and rapid. My brothers had once promised they would take only me to Belville Resort for vacations. I knew there was nothing I could do at this point. No matter what happened to me, Bianca would always twist it into something that made them misunderstand me even more. I unfriended Bianca on my social media. From that moment on, my world would no longer include her. Soon, my medical spray arrived. A maid agreed to help bring it in from outside.

After That Day

After That Day

I kept a close eye on Alicia's streaming antics. I found out that in three days, she planned to have Tony take on monstrous waves, some as high as buildings. Tony was just a kid, barely taller than a surfboard! When the day came, my parents and I were glued to the stream, faces all tense. They believed my worries, not a shred of doubt–nothing like Jeff! My eyes started to water. If only I had listened to them and not married Jeff out of pity!

I said, leaning against the doorframe. She looked up and smiled. "Morning. I made coffee." "I can see that." I walked over and kissed the top of her head. "How long have you been up?" "An hour maybe? I couldn't sleep." She gestured at the ocean. "It's too beautiful out here." I sat down beside her, stealing her mug for a sip. "What's the plan today?" "I don't know. What do people do in paradise?" "Absolutely nothing," I said. "That's the point."

' thought Nora as she headed straight for the waiting room. Nora's flight was in an hour. Nora had turned off her mobile phone and chose to read a novel by her favourite author. The Billionaire’s Regret Clause; One Year Together. One Love

"The fourth book is available only to the reader who has been inside a long accumulation long enough that the ordinary day is the deepest thing they know." Ernest looked at him. "The ordinary day is the deepest thing." "Yes," Don said. "The deepest thing available to the person inside the accumulation. Not the significant events — the naming, the trips, the books. The ordinary day. The Wednesday with thirty years of Wednesdays in it. That is the deepest thing." He held Ernest's gaze. "The fourth book argues that the ordinary day is the deepest thing. The sequence of four books has been approaching this argument from the beginning. The first book is about where we are. The second is about wha

A very confident smile. Reasonable. Then said: "See you tomorrow." God. Not maybe. Fair. Not if. Reasonable. See you tomorrow. God. Like it was already decided. Fair. And somehow— Reasonable honestly. It was. God. Outside, sunset painted gold across the ocean while waves rolled endlessly against the cliffs below. Inside the house, Lily couldn't stop smiling. Because today something unexpected happened. Not a disaster. Not a lesson. Not a rescue. God. Something different.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

ANOTHER DAY ROTTING IN VAIN

ANOTHER DAY ROTTING IN VAIN

Everything about Van still made her feel deliciously nervous in the best way. At that moment, she was in the library on the third floor of their house. She sat on a couch positioned directly across the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, which overlooked the Zen garden in front of their home and offered a view of the distant city skyline. It had become a daily routine for her to wait there every afternoon, watching the horizon while anticipating her husband’s return.

I rolled my eyes, but my heart swelled anyway. He kissed the top of my head. “You saved me, you know. In ways you’ll never understand.” I turned toward him, studying his face—the sharpness, the weariness around his eyes that he tried to hide. “Then let’s promise something,” I said softly. “No more saving each other. Let’s just live.” He hesitated, then nodded. “Deal.” For the first time that day, I believed him. That night, after we put Isabella to bed, I sat on the porch alone, laptop open again. I reread my post, added one last line before hitting publish.
