Anthony Bourdain's Favorite Books Novels & Stories

“What’s your favorite food?” I blink, surprised. “What?” He shrugs a shoulder, resting his elbow on the arm of the chair. “I want to know everything about you. So I’m starting with the basics.” I hesitate. “Probably gnocchi. With butter and sage. My nonna used to make it when I was little.” A slow grin spreads across his face. “You just moved up on my list of favorite people. Good answer.” “What about you?” “Me? Shepherd’s pie. But only my mam’s. No one makes it like she did.”

Proserpina I had prepared Lucien’s favorite dishes, knowing that my Mafia Don relished a hearty meal when he returned from any trip. This evening, I had put together for dinner a massive spread: strawberry balsamic chicken thighs that my lover thoroughly enjoyed, crown roast of pork with mushroom dressing which was another of his favorites, and of course, slowly simmered Burgundy beef stew, which he swore was his comfort food.

Anne had not noticed how hungry she was until Anthony brought it up. He turned his head and saw the container on the side, walked over, looked at the sea urchins, and laughed. "There are so many. Can we finish them at lunch?" She looked expectantly at Anthony, then approached him with a smile. "Anthony, I want to eat stewed eggs with sea urchin, I have never tried it before." Anthony narrowed his dark eyes slightly, looked at the light in her eyes knowingly, turned his head, and told the bodyguard, "Throw away all the seafood."

Hector murmured, a tender smile playing at the corners of his lips as he handed me a plate of food. There was nothing not to like about the food. It was a perfect meal with sirloin steak and steamed vegetables. Hector's face was filled with contentment as he watched me eat. A sly smile spread across his face as he asked, "Tell me about the books you read?" As soon as my books were mentioned, I felt my face flush. What could I say about the books? Even my parents didn't understand my fascination with them. I smiled shyly, "Um, what would you like to know about them?" I asked.

As Paxton studied her, Rhiannon would have given anything to be able to read his mind. “Okay, then,” she said, knowing she’d be a fool not to let him help her. “What exactly do you have in mind?” “For starters, I’d send over an expert in the restaurant business to evaluate what’s going on. Have you ever heard of Anthony Ramsay?” “Oh, my God… The genius with the best cooking show on TV? Who hasn’t?” Not only was Anthony Ramsay a successful restaurateur, he was one of New York’s most renowned celebrity chefs. Austin had resented that she’d been hooked on one of Anthony’s cooking shows.

I ask. He doesn’t open his eyes but still answers me. "I don’t have a favorite exactly, though I do read a lot of Dan Brown books if that pleases you." “Oh, I haven’t read his books, are they good?” I ask. I genuinely excited, I would love to start a new series. "You wouldn’t like his books. You more of a romance type of person." Rowan says. "There’s no romance in his books? Not even between characters?" I ask.

"Winter." "Really?" "The city becomes quieter." She nodded. "I can see that." "My turn." He looked at her. "Favorite place." She smiled instantly. "My grandmother's bookstore." "You answered too quickly." "I didn't have to think." His expression softened almost imperceptibly. The questions continued. Favorite food. Worst habit. Favorite book. Childhood dream. Each answer peeled away another tiny layer. Lucien admitted he secretly enjoyed old detective novels. He couldn't sing.
