“You really should have remained in hiding, Tekna,” Jacob says, laughing at presumably the stupidity of her plan.
“The name’s Mia Gates,” she returns, turning to face Andrew. “Shoot him,” she instructs.
Without second thoughts, Andrew pulls a gun and fires, but what comes out is a golden-yellow dart that sticks Jacob in the shoulder. “Don’t worry, it won’t kill you,” he says when he sees the latter try and fail to hide the fear in his eyes. “It’s just a more efficient form of the neurorelaxers you produce, courtesy of a genius friend of ours in New Jersey.”
