Novel & Cerita Apocalypse Descent: Farming With My Harem

I just finished reading the last book when I started to write Descent for real! The title when this was still a draft was actually ‘Can’t Help Falling (In Love With You)’ because I was listening to the same song only the dark version at the time. But I got annoyed because I felt it was too freaking long to be a title. For a time, I settled calling the story "Fall from Grace" in my head but it still felt wrong... so when I searched for a synonym, the meaning of the word descent.. clicked; it feels like it perfectly sums up the entire plot.

The air itself felt contaminated. The odor of decay lingered everywhere. Flies buzzed continuously through the area. Darren placed a hand on his waist and released a long sigh. "Fuck! We're here to fight monsters." Ivy climbed out of the truck and glanced toward the farm. "Oh no." Darren's shoulders dropped. "We're here to deal with rotten animal carcasses and probably human corpses as well." Fuck! "The number of dead animals and humans continues increasing every day," Ivy explained seriously. "Many people died during the early stages of the apocalypse."

The reinforced steel gate opened slowly. Years of dust and weather groaned through its heavy hinges as sunlight spilled across the concrete courtyard beyond. No one lowered their weapons immediately. Neither side trusted easily anymore. That was what almost three years of the apocalypse had taught everyone. Natasha remained where she was, her heartbeat had finally begun to settle, but her thoughts had not. The image of the Night Hunter being thrown backward replayed over and over inside her mind. It's not as if she touched or fired at it. She hadn't even raised her hand, yet something inside her responded.

I wondered if she would end up throwing her pride away and scrambling for supplies like I did last time. I was honestly looking forward to it. I hoped she wouldn't disappoint me too soon! The next morning… The sun hadn't even risen when the heat woke me up. That same suffocating, bone-dry feeling from my past life came rushing back. I quickly switched on the air conditioner, and the cool air brought me back to my senses. It must have already been scorching hot outside. The plants outside my window were all drooping and wilting. " I smiled softly. Just as I was about to reply to Jessie, Curtis suddenly barged in. "Hazel Falken! What have you done to Bree?" I didn't understand what Curtis was talking about and looked at him with a clueless expression. However, that only seemed to anger Curtis even further. He roughly grabbed me by the arm and said, "Bree's having a high fever! Don't tell me that you weren't the one who infected her with the zombie virus!" I froze in shock. "What zombie virus?" "You got jealous of her because I liked her and not you, so you infected her with the zombie virus! Let me tell you this, Hazel Falken. Even if Bree turns into a zombie, I'll still marry her, not you!"

She stumbled a little as I pushed her through the door, and a photograph slipped out of her pocket and fell to the floor. I picked it up. It was a signed photo, and something about the face tugged at my memory. Before the apocalypse, Anna had been a singer. She brightened immediately. "Do you want me to sign one for you too? Rhett used to come to all my shows back then." I frowned and turned the photo over. On the back was a picture of Anna and Rhett together. A date was printed in the corner. March 21, 2060. The world tilted. That was the day the apocalypse hit, the day we fled, and the day Ophelia fell into the fissure and never came back up.
