They weren’t even wolves in the way we understood them. They were bred in the darkest corners of our world, broken, reforged, trained only for destruction, for the kill. Caged beneath this fortress for years because even I hadn’t trusted what would happen if they were let loose. But now? Now I didn’t need control.

“Just a scratch.” “We need to fall back to the eastern line. Rowan’s trying to regroup.” “No time,” he growls, eyes darting toward the hill. “They’re bringing the berserkers.” My blood chills. The berserkers. Rowan told me they are Nightowl’s most unstable fighters. Feral. Rabid. Uncontrollable. “Kaia!” Rhea shouts from the rooftop. “We need you, NOW!” I see her then, surrounded by three berserkers, each the size of a tree, foam dripping from their jaws.

The doors shattered inward in a blast of violet fire, splinters whistling like arrows. "Kid, how dare you disrespect our Central Boss? Do you wish to die?" Immediately after Leon finished shouting, two people spoke angrily. They were no other than Daren, the Third Apostle, and Steven, the Fifth Apostle from the Five Apostles under the Central Boss. "Two old men? Where is the Central Boss? I want to see him!" Leon squinted his eyes and looked at Daren and Steven. From the cold and strong aura the two old men possessed, Leon could tell they were probably at the same power level as Hades.
