Then I watch them light up just as another bullet tears through the car and hit the barricade.
"Whatever you want to do,” I say amidst loud grunts, "it's best you do it fast.”
Aeron scoots closer to the barricade and presses his back against the car. He takes a deep breath and places his legs against the metal post. It slips once, but he tries again until he gets a better grip with it. When he's sure he does, he adjusts his back against the car and, with low grunts, begins to push.
The tires screech and the post creaks slightly, the cement encased within cracking under pressure as Aeron continues to push. He growls loudly, his claws shooting out as they scratch against the car's paint.
