"How…?" And then I saw it. A single pinprick of warm, golden light piercing the gloom from within the castle. It was Finnian's mana. It grew rapidly, blossoming into a brilliant sunbeam that tore the darkness asunder. The final, distant screams of the creatures faded into true, final silence. Above us, the sky cleared completely, revealing the breathtaking colors of a new dawn—soft pinks, vibrant oranges, and deep purples painting the horizon. A single, joyous thought echoed in my mind. They did it. They really did it.

Zayne stated, ignoring Damon and stepping slightly closer to her. Reina let out a short laugh. "You change your tune as quickly as you change your clothes, Zayne. There is no use saying anything to me. You aren't a part of my life, and you don't get to rewrite history." Zayne’s jaw tightened, his eyes hardening with dangerous intent. He held her gaze, clearly hoping that this display of vengeance would finally stir some sympathy or forgiveness in her, but Reina remained completely unmoved.

The pain, it was nothing, nothing compared to the feeling of Ash’s teeth in my flesh. As something snapped inside of me, I could feel him. For that fleeting moment, Dain was here with me. Even that fraction of a second, it was enough to memorize the confusion on his face as he understood what had been done to me, and how powerless we both were to stop it. Just like that, the connection was snuffed out.

As soon as I heard what Dubheasa said to her shadow soldiers, I thought of stopping Caius from following me. When I turned to ride on Namir, I bumped into a large clay pot, and it broke loudly on the ground. “Who's there?” I heard Dubheasa’s voice inside. I was startled when the bricks blasted before me. And just like that, I met Dubheasa eye to eye. My heart almost shrunk in fear seeing her blazing eyes. She was a beautiful young woman, but her eyes were red as blood, and black veins covered her entire face. Her straight hair was white as snow and so long that it touched the floor. What scared me most was the dark shadows that looked like a distorted body of a human.

The door clicked open and I blinked as light flooded the tiny dungeon. Alpha Isaac. “Did you really think I was going to just let you leave like that? All these years I’ve kept you safe and well looked after. This is how you think it’s ok to repay me?” He was furious to say the least. I tried my best to hold back the tears but I was afraid, my body trembled as he stepped towards me. Standing only a few metres from my side. “You disgust me.” He spat in my face and forced me to my knees. The pain making me cry out loudly, causing him to then slap me around the face.

I made my way through the dark corridors of the dungeon, my heart burning with a desire for revenge. I had been betrayed by Luciana, the very person I thought was my friend and ally. But now, I was determined to make her pay with her blood. I reached the cell where Sam and Morris were being held, and I could see the fear in their eyes as they looked up at me.
