As though momentarily, she wasn’t able to hear anything, and all she had felt was the shot of slithering pain drawing behind her, taking all of her senses.
“Anderson!!” Max yelled, rushing down to help her. Iris gasped for air, her chest felt stuffy like bags of heavy grains blocking the airways. Spinning around slowly, she saw one of the assassins holding the katana thrust into her waist beside her spinal cord. She staggered backwards away from him, and groaned in pain when she tried to pull the sword off of her.
