Finally, I muttered a curse sourly and released my hold.
“Run toward your people, but stay lined up to block the female and me,” I asserted and rushed to Athena. Scooping her up in my arms, I turned and ran back toward my pack village, not concerned about the rogues or whether they were going to try and shoot me in the back.
Slowing to a casual pace I smiled at Athena.
“Hello beautiful,” I told her with a grin on my muzzle.
“Hey Gavin, so I, um, heard that you have a fiance, and I'm pregnant with your twin pups,” she said softly.
