Alastair POV My feelings are getting complicated and messed up by the day, I can’t place my mind on anything other than LATIFA. Her body. The scars! I’m too curious to meddle in her past affairs especially now that I'm fighting not to be deeply attached to her, that is, if I haven't. My thoughts were loud in my heart but numb to anyone's hearing.

I breathe out and say, “So, um, I guess I should introduce myself and start explaining everything. My name is Mateo Rossi, I am the Beta of the Verona Pack, and I am Alita’s true mate.” Peelle’s eyebrows furrow and he presses his lips together, but he doesn’t say anything. I answered, forcing my tone even. Her smile turned knowing. “Don’t worry,” she said lightly. “You don’t have to get jealous. I wouldn’t go for Kieran even if he asked.” I blinked, caught off guard by her bluntness. “I’m not jealous,” I replied.
