A permanent scowl plastered on his features, which I've grown habitual to. Honestly, I am so used to it that I feel something is wrong with him if I don't see him with it. His raven dark hair was fringed up in perfection, not even a single strain falling out of the place. The time was already a quarter past six, so I headed to the prison building to wait for the time. As I was walking, I bumped into Lilith. She had a backpack, so I guessed she was going to work on somebody. "You got a gig?" I asked her, trying to make small talk even though I didn't really have the time. I just thought it would be awkward bumping into someone you know without saying something to them.

" Malakai smirked when he thought of the answer. "We're ghosts baby." Malakai responded and Eden wanted to laugh, but she was so confused at the same time. "Huh? The fuck do you mean?" Eden said and looked up to see a mischievous glint in her boyfriend's eyes. "I have someone, a hacker, his name is Rhys. He'd remove everyone's DNA, their information and everything there is about them off the systems of the world. When you joined the agency, he did the same. In short, we don't exist little one." Malakai said and Eden's eyes widened. She never knew the extent to which Malakai could go.

Until tonight. I opened it with trembling fingers, staring at the faded photo inside. The man’s features were sharp, his smile subtle. He looked nothing like me, yet there was something oddly familiar about his gaze. Beneath the photo was the word Always, etched in tiny cursive. It used to comfort me, but now it felt like a puzzle piece I couldn’t place.

Aeron growls sounding every second like the domineering, possessive Alpha I think he is. “You swear you have never met Alpha Knox?” Alpha Horace asks staring right at me. “I swear.” I say. “If I find you’ve lied…” He begins but cut across him. “It’s not a lie. I never met him. Silas kept me away from everyone. I am not his mate, I’ve never created a mate-bond with him. I belong with Aeron and Cain.” I snap, staring him down with some newfound defiance that seems to burn inside me. Horace narrows his eyes.

However, instead of excitement, the chat had been flooded with warnings. [Streamer, there's someone behind you.] [Get out. There's something wrong with the water.] I streamed often, so I was used to comments like those. I figured they were just bored and messing around. As I scrolled, one username caught my eye. Alaric Vane. [Leave now! A dead fish… and it still took the bait… Reel in your line and go.] I tapped into his profile. His avatar showed a man in a black robe holding a staff made of bone.

He let the screen do it, and the screen stopped on a name that made Kaela's stomach drop before her mind caught up to why. Orveen. "That's not a claimant credential," Lucien said, flatly. It was not a question, though it came out like the front half of one. "No," Adair said. "It's tagged as legacy-remnant. Which is either a leftover from a role that predates the claimant system entirely and was never formally closed out — " he looked up as he continued, “ — or something somebody forgot to revoke because they didn't know it existed to revoke."
