Chapter 4 A long night Peter When I get home, I'm tired from work, but thoughtful and determined to find out what that girl needs that my office can't give her. I lie down on my bed and pick up my cell phone to search the internet for Allyson Mitchell's social networks. When I do, I see normal photos, even some of her in a bikini on a beach. I don't see a boyfriend in any of the photos. Maybe she's hiding him? Maybe she doesn't.

Tony—skinny, gold chain fake as hell, tracksuit committing fashion crimes—produced a bottle of ouzo like a magician and slopped four tall pours without permission. “How’s your mate doing?” he asked, not looking. Con slid a glass to Peter and Stephen and kept one. “Dean’s still a wreck. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost Prue…” Tony pointed a loaded fork, salad and steak wobbling. “That’s the power of the pussy, my friend. The power of the pussy.” Cutlery clinked too loud. Peter’s stare could’ve salted meat. “No wonder you don’t have a missus—with remarks like that.”

I choked with tears, "Yours. I'm your bitch." "Now, that sounds right." Clearly, Anthony was extremely pleased. In a surge of adrenaline, he pounced on me, pinning me down beneath him. But just as I was clawing at his back and preparing myself to just go wild and let loose, Peter actually showed up at the door. With a grim expression on his face, he asked, "What are you both doing?" I almost passed out on the spot in fright. Did Peter regain his sight? Did he already find out about everything?

“Baam!” A strong hit fell on the desk, prompting Peter to back away slightly, not wanting to be a part of the rage that his employer was currently experiencing. “How dare she?” he screamed angrily as he tossed the device away. ‘Arnold is unaware, but has she forgotten that she is my lover? Is she attempting to irritate me, or is she trying to gain a title by clinging to him? What the hell is she doing?’ The more he thought about Avita’s behavior, the more enraged he became. It was at this point that he really realized how little he knew about her.

As I pant, he puts a hand on my cheek and makes me look up at him. Peter's eyes darken more as he watches me. What do I look like to him right now? The look on his face reminds me of a hungry beast getting ready to have a feast. Am I prey to him? I shiver as the idea makes the heat I feel get stronger. Peter uses his thumb to wipe away the mess he made on me. "Damn it..." In a flash he has me pinned down making me gasp. Both eyes are red now and he snarls loudly. "Mine." His voice is gruffer than normal and I hear Victor whine in my head. This must be Issac, his wolf.

My father had to use his Alpha ton to make him comply ‘’leave him and sit down, he didn’t mean to disrespect anyone’’. Everyone was looking at them, I just touched Peter at his arm asking him if he was ok. ‘’I’m fine don’t worry’’ Peter reassured me but this time he was looking at Anton with hostility. This was unlike him, he was always nice even when Anton was an asshole to him. I think he had enough too. Anton got a sit again but he looked furious and ready to attack him again.

Relax, Peter was gay, he didn't like women. ‘It isn't like we care whether he likes her or not,’ My wolf said and I nodded, getting into my car. I didn't care at all. Peter was gay and that wasn't some sort of choice. He liked men and not women. I once asked if he would ever fuck a woman, and he said he has never found himself attracted to them. He was just pulling my leg. It wasn't like I cared if he liked Lana. I drove back to the pack and during this, my phone beeped and I saw a message from the Alpha.

“I’m just saying Peter said he’s fine.” Peter nodded. “I am. I’m happy I’m here. With my friends. And my favourite cousin.” He bumped Ava lightly with his shoulder. Ava’s expression softened for two seconds before turning hard again. “That doesn’t mean we let Daniel go scot-free.” Peter groaned. “There it is.” “Yes, there it is!” Ava said. “We should make him jealous. Crush his heart. Let him feel pain.” Riss shook his head. “That is stupid.”

Anthony turned away without another word, walking fast to catch up with Belle and the others. Peter stayed behind for a moment, making sure Anthony wouldn’t turn back and attack again. He let out a long breath, then shook his head at Bastian. His eyes carried the same disappointment. “You’ve got a death wish, Bastian,” Peter said. “Pooh, I…” Bastian paused. “…yeah, I know.” “I’m sorry, man. But this time, I can’t defend you. I’m with Tony.” “It’s alright. I get it.” Peter gave a short nod, then stepped back and turned away. He disappeared into the dark, chasing after the others.

It might sound like a cheap pick-up line from any girl, but really, I genuinely think that way. Every girl would line up to become Eren's girlfriend. Not me, of course. I'm not interested in developing my feelings for my brother's best friend, and the Alpha of the most feared pack. "A guy like what?" he asks, looking amused. I laugh, rolling my eyes. "I guess you're just the same as my brother." Peter doesn't like commitments with girls, and I guess that Eren is no different. He smiles. "No, we're different. I do commit to some girls," he says, as if reading my mind. Smart guy indeed, isn't he?
