she begged but Ame didn't say a word.
A soft knock was heard at the door and Ame's brother, Osahon, entered, bearing a tray that was loaded with food for his sister and Ego. "Sis, I brought you breakfast," he called cheerfully as he entered. He set the tray down on the side stool near her bed. "Sis Ego, I brought your own too," he said, looking at her with a smile on his face.
"I can see that. Thanks dear," Ego answered in appreciation. Osahon had made toast for them. There was a jar of apricot jam, as well as two plates of scrambled eggs with two large mugs of sweet tea and two slices of pineapple.
