AFTER REBIRTH, I BECAME UNTOUCHABLE
The brick shifted inward, sliding open and inside was a perfectly placed black briefcase.
I reached for it, feeling its weight in my hands.
For two years, this briefcase had been waiting, untouched.
And now, it was mine again.
A slow smile spread across my face as I pulled the briefcase out. I opened it and for a moment, I almost burst into tears.
All the stress, the fear, the uncertainty, it vanished in an instant.
With this money, I could leave Murkwood for good with the kids. I could finally start over. Nothing was lost. I didn’t need to borrow loans from a bank, beg for investors, or rely on anyone else. This was my chance. My real chance.
